He will fight David Diaz in his next bout for Diaz's WBC Lightweight title on June 28 at Mandalay Bay, Las Vegas.

Manny Pacquiao the Philippines world boxing champion the only Asian to have titles in three different weight classes. He is from the Bukidnon province situated in Mindanao.

Manny Pacquiao (Pacman) began to box professionaly in 1995 weighing 106 lbs which would place him at 16 years old in the Light Flyweight category.

Manny became a star when he won a fight against via decision Edmund Ignacio on january 22, 1995.With his weight increased to 133 pounds from 106 he lost against Rusitco Torrecampo in a third round technical knokout TKO.

From there he went on to win the WBC flyweight title over Chatchai Sasakul by the eigth round and lose the title to Nakhon Si Thammarat of Thailand. Actually Pacquio lost the fight without stepping into the ring as he weighed in at above the required weight of 112 lbs.

Pacquiao increased weight and entered the Super Bantan weight category at which he won the WBC title.

Pacquiao won the IBF Super Bantanweight title against Lehlohonolo in June 23, 2001. Manny entered the the fight

as a last minute replacement and won by TKO at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas Nevada. Pacquio later defended this four times and a draw in a fight against Agapito Sanchez.

Top Rank promoter Bob Arum announced WBA super featherweight champion Edwin Valero "is could be the next opponent" of Filipino ring idol Manny Pacquiao but was quick to add that "no real negotiations with anybody have started yet." (Is Arum just looking for publcity to be able to talk someone forom the Pacman camp)
