mapquest or gps navigator

road trip
Traveling across town or cross counrty have changes over the years,we have come a long way from tracking our route with atlas and fold up maps, now many people have gps navigator built in their car or a portable one that can be used and removed from the car.
Mapquest is and will always be a great alternative to tom tom they both have their advantage and disadvantages, mapquest gives turn by turn written directions and a map that you can print from your computer and take with you however if there is a construction, accident,or bad weather on the road and you have to detour for a couple miles it can be difficult sometimes to return to your original route disadvantage mapquest.
GPS Navigator will always return you to the original route no matter how far you detour from it,you will have some lost of signal mostly in tunnels, and some dead zones where there is just no signal from the satelite advantage gps navigator.
Built in verses portable, i prefer portable when travelling i take it from one car put in in my bag when i reach my destination i plug it into the other car put in the address i need to go to and go,i don't need to ask anyone for directions,or call them ten times to say i'm lost when they feel like they gave me the perfect directions,i got tired of asking questions like this--when you told me to turn left at the pig farm did you mean my left or your left?.
