The Basics of Marketing with Articles

There are so many different ways for you to be able to make money on the Internet but one of the most consistent, is article marketing. If you are somewhat familiar with article marketing, you probably already understand its power and exactly how much traffic you can drive your website. If you expand on your knowledge and continue to get better at writing and promoting your articles, that traffic can go off the charts. Here are the basics of article marketing, along with a tip that will get you more traffic to your existing articles.

The most basic part of the article is the keyword that you will be using. These words, or phrases, are the ones that are actually typed into Google whenever people are searching for things. It does no good for you to guess at which keyword you should be using, you will more than likely receive lackluster traffic as a result. Use the Google external keyword tool in order to take any guesswork out of the mix, and to really understand what people are searching for. Use those keywords in your articles, and you will receive more traffic.

One of the ways in which most people fail at articlemarketing is by either making the articles too long, or making them too good. I'm not telling you that you need to write an article that is absolutely the worst piece of work ever written, but I am telling you that you should leave your reader wanting a little bit more. Why is that the case? Because if they read your article and they still need a little bit of information, you have a better chance of them following through to your website in order to find out what else you have to say about the subject.

That leads me to my next point, you need to make sure that you are pointing them in the right direction in your resource box. Far too many people tell you that it is necessary for you to sell yourself in the resource box. For example, they might tell you to write about your knowledge on the subject or exactly why they should listen to you. I'm going to let you in on a little secret, nobody cares. The only thing that they want is a link to a website and perhaps a reason why they should click on that link. The more compelling that you make your resource box, the higher your click through rate is going to be.

The only other thing that you need is persistence. You can't expect to write one or two articles and to get a ton of traffic to your website. Make a plan for how many articles you expect to write and then make sure that you're sticking with that plan. If you do so, you're going to see results for your effort that are measurable both in traffic to your website, and the bottom line.
