Does the idea of a total body detoxification sound like a good idea to you? If it does, you might be interested in the list of ingredients included in the recipe for the master cleanse diet. Also often referred to as the lemonade diet, the drink for this diet is all you will be taking in for a period of 10 days or longer depending on the length of time you decide to stay on the diet.

The recipe for this master cleanser recipe diet is surprisingly easy, but must be followed to the letter if you want to get ideal results. First, start with two tablespoonsful of lemon or lime juice. For best results you should juice your own limes or lemons. Do not use canned or bottles juices since they contain preservatives. Organic fruits are actually your best choice since they are grown without the use of pesticides.

Next you will need two tablespoonsful of real maple syrup. Don't get the maple flavored breakfast syrup, it is not the same. Also, pay attention to grade when buying your maple syrup. While all three grades of syrup can be used, Grade B is the ideal form. Grade A maple syrup is generally made earliest in the season when the weather is still cold. It is lighter in color and has a milder taste. Grade B is made late in the season. It is generally darker than Grade A syrup but not as dark as Grade C. Grade B syrup has more minerals and more maple taste than Grade A syrup. It is the best choice for the master cleanse diet. Finally Grade C syrup is made latest in the season. Although it has more minerals and a stronger taste, it is the least desirable syrup to use if you want to follow the master cleanse diet recipe correctly.

The next ingredient in the recipe for the master cleanser diet is cayenne pepper, also known as red pepper. You should use about 1/10 of a teaspoon of this pepper. You can use more pepper if you so desire.

To make the drink, mix the lime or lemon juice, syrup and pepper together in a 10 ounce glass. Then finish filling the glass with medium hot water and stir. If you don't like hot lemonade, you can you cold water. While on this diet, you should drink six to 12 glasses of the lemonade throughout the day. Remember, for the detox to be successful, you can not eat any form of solid food during the period of the diet. You will be receiving all of your needed nutrients through the lemonade.
