When I became pregnant I knew that eventually I'd have to purchase new maternity clothing. It seemed silly since we are only wearing them for a very short time but stretchy tops and belly bands will only take us so far. When I officially outgrew my existing wardrobe, I realized it was time to do some serious shopping! After much research online and in the stores, depending on how much you want to spend, there's a cute maternity top or comfortable maternity pants that caters to all womens budgets.

Here's my top picks for maternity apparel categorized by low to high price ranges:

Low price range -

Motherhood Maternity - Found some great tops and pants that are true to size and reasonably priced. Great sale items! Casual, career and dressy.

Target - Thank you Liz Lange! Functional tops/bottoms/dresses for everyday and career at a low price. This was my first stop for shopping!

Old Navy Maternity - Again, great prices on tops and pants. Mostly casual and some career. Sale items too!

Amazon - You could categorize this in the low to high price range as they sell a wide range of maternity clothing including Target, Mimi Maternity and Pea in the Pod. You'll find lots of great deals here and I posted some pics from their site below.

Mid price range -

Mimi Maternity - It's too bad some of their clothes are so pricey but if you're ok with spending a little more, you'll find a beautiful selection of casual, career and dressy clothing. They do have plenty of sale items which I'll post pics of below. Some items run a tad small.

Gap Maternity - Same as Mimi - wide range of apparel.

High price range -

A Pea in the Pod - Their clothes are beautiful but oh so pricey (their website says "for the affluent client" if that gives you any hints)! I ended up purchasing a blouse here that was on sale for my baby shower because none of the others looked as nice on me. Let me tell you, the sale price wasn't much of a bargain but the blouse is gorgeous. Again, some items run a little small.

Nordstrom (online shopping only) - Wide range of maternity styles from a variety of manufacturers, but fairly pricey as well.

Another great option for buying maternity apparel is searching for a maternity consignment store near you. I found one local to me by typing in "maternity consignment stores" and then adding your city. The store was actually a childrens/maternity consignment store so you may find this as well. I can't tell you the deals I found for brand name clothing! Also an option when you're ready to get rid of your maternity clothes--they will buy them from you!

There's also plenty of maternity apparel on Ebay if you decide to go that route.

Having a baby is such an exciting time, and shopping for that perfect blouse or dress or outfit can be a lot of fun as well--who doesn't want to show off their cute, growing belly :)! Hopefully this list will help narrow down your maternity clothing options depending on your budget. Shop away!
