54adam's ideas
This is all a bit new to me... the whole social networking way of interacting online. So I thought I'd write something introductory to see how this works, posting info, etc.
Now, I'm calling this capsule "adam's ideas" for my son, Adam. See, over the past few months I've been working on getting some websites up and running to supplement my offline businesses. And on the phone one day with a buddy of mine (Mark Shepard) my son Adam overheard some parts of our conversation. When I was done he asked me to help him with his business, ideas.com.
Now, Adam is 5 year old and in kindergarten. So, after the initial surprise of his question wore off, I said "sure sweetheart, I'll help you get that set up." So there you have it. When I get a chance I'll show it to him, and I'm sure he'll get a kick out of it.
I decided to put this under the "math help" hub title, primarily because I used to teach math at the high school (2 years in CT, 3 in NY), junior high school, and grammer school level (tutoring inner city kids in St. Louis while attending St. Louis U). So it seemed like a good way to get my thoughts sort of crystallized on paper (so to speak).
Now, I DO plan on writing some useful tidbits on math, math help, that sort of thing. Since I no longer teach, it shouldn't come as a surprise that my 2 offline businesses involve numbers... ah, more math.
So, if you found this introductory article, please feel free to leave a comment or 2. I'm planning on launching a few more hubs (business stuff, like the "how to start up..." or "5 tips to avoid..." kind of thing. And, get this, possibly a hub on philosophy (my Master's from Fordham) and philosophical issues (yawn!). Who knows, so stay tuned.
