Meditation with Awareness

The mind/breath connection

A disturbed breath disturbs the mind and a mind that wanders hinders the creation of new pathways and the flow of positive energy. There are two classic reasons for this to occur; desires and thoughts. Desires are produced by an actual lack of control of emotions as well as the latent impressions of feelings. Awareness in all activities helps you to take control of your thoughts and emotions and only create situations which are of benefit to you.

Distracting thoughts occur due to past impressions and memories, both happy ones and those you wanted to put away for ever, causing desires, conversations, and feelings flow to the mind like an out-of-control river.

For example, if you smell the aroma of freshly baked bread, your mind receives this information through the nose and mouth, and the mind if not under control will really want the bread, focusing only on that thought, causing the body to follow the impulse to eat the bread.

Changing your mind

You are not stuck with the life-pattern and thought-pattern that you currently have. Change is possible. Understanding where your needs and wants stem from enables you to decide whether keeping or removing particular actions are beneficial to you.

Putting new thoughts into new actions is not just about producing a new way of thinking though.

It’s about generating a new way of living, discerning and applying the information gleaned from meditation to let go of old ways of reacting to a lifestyle that no longer serves you.

The entire world is your projection and is within your control.

Meditation

Either before or during your meditation session, focus on one or all of the following affirmations.

I am ever expanding my awareness and opening my life to the opportunities that surround me.

I am filled with energy and choose to experience things that reveal and support my true purpose.

Everything good is coming to me with ease and grace.

When I focus on only the positive in my life, I summon all that is for my highest good, and receive what I truly need right now.

Following your meditation, carry one of the affirmations with you throughout the day and soon you will develop your ability to be more aware and in tune with your thoughts.
