A Review of the Melaleuca Income Opportunity
66With people’s health being such a key issue worldwide, with Governments making it a priority topic when it comes to political debates, it’s perhaps not surprising that companies like Melaleuca are flourishing so much. Offering health and wellness products that can help you with ailments such as arthritis and similar, the company is growing at a tremendous rate.
Much of this is down to the affiliate program that Melaleuca runs. For a set amount, not only can you be a customer of the company but you can also become a “partner”, who benefits from the sales of the Melaleuca range, as well as any additional commission methods.
This can range from becoming a sponsor for another sales person, who has joined via your affiliate link, or by having enough people under you where you can let them earn your commissions for you.
There’s no doubting that the Melaleuca system can work – after all, the products that they are selling is what everyone is looking for. Health and wellness has never been such big business, and Melaleuca has tapped into it at just the right time. Over 20 years in business, Melaleuca now offers over 350 products for the normal consumer to choose from. Although the prices are a little bit more expensive than your normal drugstore equivalent, generally the additional cost is worth it.
When it comes to making money as an affiliate of Melaleuca (or Marketing Executive, as they like to call their affiliates), it’s reasonably straightforward. You pay a signing on fee of around $90,as well as setting up your own product account. The reason for that is that to qualify for any payments, you need to earn 35 product points per month (each product has a points-to-dollar value and is calculated accordingly). It’s here that the Melaleuca dream starts to crumble a little.
To earn 35 points, you actually have to purchase around $80 worth of products. Although you will then be eligible for a discount of around 30-40%, this amount has to be reached EVERY month, whether you need products or not. Melaleuca state that you can easily cover these points if you sign up enough members underneath you, as their points will go towards your target.
Yet here lies the problem – although Melaleuca state that they are not like other MLM Internet marketing companies, and that they won’t force you to sign people up, it’s the only way that you’re going to make any money whatsoever. To put the figures into real perspective, it would take at least a hundred people underneath you to make any kind of decent money, and that’s only if they’re being productive as well.
There’s no doubting that for some people, Melaleuca will certainly reward them handsomely, and those people will probably be the ones that you see all the testimonials from about how the company will change your financial lifestyle. If you can afford to buy stuff that you don’t need on a monthly basis, and don’t mind pestering friends and colleagues to join up with you, then there is a chance that Melaleuca will work for you as well. If that’s not the case, it’s probably better to look at other options when it comes to making online income.

Tabitha,
You are saddly mistaken. melaleuca is a wonderful company. The products are great and soo are the prices. You have exagerated the pricing situation. The membership to become a customer with Melaleuca is only $29.00. Most months like this one they offer additional discounts making that cost $1.00. There is an option for customers who do not wish to purchase 35 points. A typiclal 35 point order is around $50.00. Customers in 13 countires love these products and can not say enough good things about them. As a customer people love have safe products to use in their homes. As a business builder people love the oppertunity. This is like any other business, wether you are an accountant or work a cash register at a grocery store, you must actually go to work and put effort into your job. That is where a lot of people fail. You can not expect people to hand you anything. You have to work for it. For anyone looking to build a business with Melaleuca, it is about accoountability. That is what we do everyday. We actually treat this like a busines and work every day as if we were on the clock. For anyone interested my email is krgreenteam@aol.com
I agree with you 100% Kira. I have been in the business for less than a month and I can truly see the great opportunies that come along with this company. On the other hand I do have a problem with Melaleuca claiming not to be a MLM, but i clarify this with my propects ahead of time so they know what they are getting into. Also I have not and will not bother one friend or family member about the opportunity, I have advertised through the internet and offline and will see major results because of my back ground in internet marketing. All you need to know is the law of attration! If anyone is intrested feel free to email me at successleader23@yahoo.com

I was one to try Melaleuca in 2006, it was my first real all in attempt to earn money online. I not only bought into the premium package they offered to start which costs I think @ $350, to be charged to my credit card of course. This package was a huge amount of all their products as they wanted you to be familiar with their products and 'know how good they were for yourself' supposedly so you could be effective in selling it to others. By The Way Their products stink the oil they use for cleaning products and medicine will make you sick to your stomach after you smell it a short time. Just give me good old fashioned Pine-Sol anyday! Then while trying all these 'natural products' I had to go thru a training course of about 9-12 weeks, I can't remember exactly, it's been too long and I have tried to forget what I done back then. Needless to say by the time I got feed up with the same stuff being repeated week after week in the course, and the same way to cheery voice calling to tell me what I needed to purchase next, my credit card had been charged over $1000, all this in 1 1/2 months time. I also had to purchase up to the 35 points every month a total of 2 times for me before I got plum sick to my stomach and decided to cut my losses and ge out while I could.
It took 2 typed letters to the company before they stopped charging me for the monthly standing order they had me on (so I could keep my points in good standing kind of thing) My card was almost paid off before I started only $400 to go and now its way up there again. I now do have a legit job that is making me money every month and I am using the money I make to pay down those evil devices so I don't have to ever see them again. I also posted on Jeff Paul's Shortcut To Internet Millions which yes I also tried and got taken fora fool. Wel, No MORE. I researched what I do now and found them to be members of BBB and nothing but good things to be said anywhere online, so I am in the right place now, Thank God for never giving up on being a life long learner.
To Your Success!
