A Vote For Anybody Else Other Than Barack Obama Might Be A Vote Against His Wife
56As a Canadian looking in on the race for American President, there are two sure things, one being that neither John McCain nor Barack Obama are fit to run the country, and the other being that Michelle Obama is a liability to her husband's campaign.
She certainly is a capable orator though, I'll concede that, but that's where the good things I have to say about Michelle Obama end.
If you have been the Democratic National Convention in Denver for the past two days you might know what I'm talking about when I say, "Michelle Obama is a smug, arrogant, holy-than-thou power hungry woman who if it wasn't for he husband's charisma and character being able to compensate for his wife's lack of charisma and character flaws, she would be easily recognized as somebody surrounded by an aura of bitchiness, and somebody who thinks her poo-poo doesn't stink."
She definitely and definitively is not "First Lady" material, and by the time the last votes are counted in November, an overwhelming number of the 18 million supporters Hillary Clinton gained during the democratic primaries will be casting their ballot for Republican John McCain or an independent candidate.
I could be wrong of course, but...
If you were watching the same Fox News Channel coverage of the DNC as I was watching, you would have been treated to a speech by his wife that was less about what Barack can do for the American people and more about why Michelle thinks her and her husband are so special. She told a story that many politicians before her have told repeatedly. There was nothing in her speech that democratic Americans haven't heard before.
Despite the smile, we could see on her husband's face during her speech, she really didn't do her husband, Joe Biden and the rest of the Democratic Party any favours.
The way she stuck her nose up in the air while she delivered most of her sermon was sheer arrogance, smugness and a hint of narcissism. She came across to me as person who believes she is better than everybody else, the kind of woman you might see on an episode of Dynasty or a daytime soap opera. I think she might look down on people despite what she said in yesterday's speech. She certainly wouldn't have impressed the voters who were pulling for Hillary during the primaries, and who were hoping that after she lost the primary race she would be named as Barack Obama's running mate. She wouldn't have impressed too many other democrats either; you could tell that by the roar of the crowd every time she made a lucid point.
Not everybody in attendance would have noticed Michelle's arrogance and smugness because they were too busy paying attention to everybody else around them.
A lot of democrats wouldn't have missed what I saw, and for those who did, they still have a couple of months to see for themselves, unless of course she is told by somebody in her campaign to clean up her act, which I don't see happening.
I imagine many people are afraid of Michelle, including her husband from time to time. Does anybody think she might be prone to temper tantrums?
Of course the way Michelle presented herself when she made her speech may not be enough to push a good portion of the 18 million Clinton supporters over to the Republican side just yet, but if the way she carried herself during Hillary Clinton's speech today is anything to go by, somebody get the hammer out because the last nail in her husband's "Presidential Campaign" coffin is in the lid, and all that is left to do now is wait for the votes in November to be counted before driving that final nail into his coffin.
I couldn't believe how smug Mrs. Obama looked every time a television camera was pointed at her during Clinton's speech.
Her facial expressions were priceless and she really looked like she had some sort of hate on for Hillary Clinton. Even my wife, who had no idea who Michelle was before I pointed her out to her, was left with the impression that Michelle didn't like Hillary.
My wife also pointed out that Michelle appeared more than smug, and that she looked angry, that she just wanted Clinton to hurry up and get off the stage.
You can bet that there were plenty of Clinton supporters watching the same television coverage as my wife and I, and some of them along with other voters watching the FNC coverage, would have been seeing the same thing my wife and I saw every time a television camera zoomed in on Michelle. It wasn't a pretty sight, and a woman who carries a face like the one Michelle was wearing during the Clinton speech isn't somebody you want at an American president's side.
Michelle Obama has issues, the kind of issues that is going to divide the Democratic Party and cost the party many votes. What those issues are however depends on how good a journalist is digging up dirt on democratic presidential candidate's wife.
I can understand why her husband declared his wife off limits when it came to mudslinging in the media during the primaries, and I have a feeling that the kind of dirt that could have been dug up about his wife during his race to become the presidential candidate might have been enough to bury any chance of him winning the democratic nomination. Of course, there's nothing he can do now about keep his wife safe from journalists and dirt diggers, and in the next couple of months I'm sure we'll hear about some of the skeletons hiding in her closet with her designer handbags, Jimmy Choo shoes, and many other of life's little luxuries for women.
A woman as hard as Michelle Obama appears to be didn't become as powerful as she did in Chicago without leaving a few skeletons in some closets, and before this campaign is over all of America is going to find out just how much of a temperamental, unpredictable, power hungry, evil vixen she is, and with that her husband's chances of becoming president will diminish further.
His wife's personality and character flaws are a bigger liability to him winning the presidency than his lack of experience, and unless there's a sudden change in her attitude, the election is all but lost for Barack.
American voters aren't stupid, and when the day comes to cast their vote, the flaws that Michelle Obama would bring to the Whitehouse will be more obvious than the good her husband can do.

Iain, surely you didn't believe that an opinion from somebody living outside the U.S. who couldn't in any way, shape or form influence American stupidity of the democratic kind into voting for somebody else other than Obama would count for anything did you?
If you truly believed that, and I am assuming you're a Democrat given your comment, all I can say is good luck America under a Democratic regime that is going to march to only one drum, that one being their own.
If you truly think Obama is going to be good for all Americans then like the people who voted him into the Oval Office, you are sadly mistaken.
By the way how about that "change" he was saying he was going to deliver in Washington, I hear his administration is going to made up of mostly past Clinton pals and bureaucrats. Nothing like changing back to the "old guard" and passing it off as "change."
Regards mate.
Butt out! Canadian guy! :-)
Hey Ralph buddy, you're a litte late ya clown.
