Military Knives - Military Knife Hubpage

There are many different models of military knives - many different types used by by units and soldiers around the world. There are also many commercial versions - knives that are modified from the original knife to be better suited to non-military usage.

One good example of this is the Ka-bar 5" Fighting Knives. These knives are the shorter version of the 7" USMC Fighting Knife. The shorter length is intended to make the knife more suitable for day-to-day usage, as well as to make it more affordable.

Of course, the full-length Ka-bar USMC knife is probably the most popular commercially-available military knife. If you want the toughest, most indestructible knife, though, your best bet is probably the Navy Seal Knife. This knife passed an amazingly regorous test before becoming the knife of choice for Navy Seals.

The US military uses many different knives. Even in branches that have an official knife, such as the Marine Corps, different units may use different knives. Plus, there are many knives on the market designed to honor or be used by US Military that are not an official military knife.

Ka-bar makes a line of commemorative knives, each celebrating an achievement, battle, or war in US Military history, ranging from WWI to Operation Iraqi Freedom. These knives are 7"fighting knives with special designed imprinted on them.

Other companies may make similar knives, but I am not aware of any.
