So.  I'm really new to this...I don't do much "online" writing aside from my blog, which is generally just me complaining about my life.  But that's not important here.  I guess I will give you a little about me concerning writing.

I've always been a "writer" according to my family.  From elementary school stories to high school comprehensive essays, I've...well, been good at it.  I never considered a career in writing though, till my sophomore year of high school, when I took Journalism.  I'd been insistent on dropping the class the entire summer before, claiming that "I didn't want to only be able to write a certain way", and reassuring myself that it would completely cramp my "style".  Turns out, Journalism was my best class.  I never had less than a 98% as my final grade, got to do a program at a radio station in Philadelphia, and even got the Journalism II and III awards my junior and senior year respectively.  So, naturally, I figured journalism was the only major that I could even dream of taking.

Well, now I'm about a month into my second semester of college at Slippery Rock University, and I've realized a few things.  For as good as I was at journalism in high school, I don't think I ever really loved it.  I'm pretty sure now that I loved being good at something- clearly standing above all the others in my class.  Which is why I'm changing my major to Criminal Justice.  I've also realized that after a semester at Slippery Rock, that it is just not the school for me.  I'm a good six hours away from home, which is difficult, but it is so small here!!  So, I'm transferring in the fall, to a different school.  I couldn't tell you which one, seeing as I'm all over the place in deciding.

Hmm, so that was a fantastic tangent.  I guess what I'd really love to do is take a year off and go abroad, specifically, go stay with my friend in Australia.  But, I'm planning on writing my first article about the vast change I've experienced in the last five months, and the change I hope to experience...and all of this is a part of it, so I'll quit rambling about it.

I suppose my original intent was to give you an idea of what you can expect to read at this "hub", (though I'm still not really sure what a hub is...).  And the answer is anything and everything.  I love music, politics, television, movies, books, writing...you name it, I probably like something about it.  But I want to write about life too, in a more insightful way.  Maybe even give advice, which would be amazing.  That probably requires fans though.

So even if you find this entry to be horribly annoying and pointless, I implore you to add yourself as a fan, because I do plan on being a lot more focused than I've come across.  Give me a chance, and I can promise you won't be disappointed!!
