Motorized bike selection.

Building of my own motorized bike:

One day I got an idea from a friend of mine and she said she saw these ordinary bicycles that had engines on them and were very fuel efficient. In fact they get up to 150 miles per gallon and are still able to be ridden as a normal bicycle for exercise or complete fuel savings. I had not heard that much about them when they were mentioned to me, but I thought these would be great for single person transportation needs. After researching the motorized bicycles, they appeared to be very easy to operate and street legal in most states. They can easily reach street friendly speeds of 25-30 mph. I also discovered they can be ridden up to 30 miles at a time to allow the engine to cool itself briefly.

At this point I became very interested in this business opportunity and getting one on my own bicycle. I told her that if we are going to sell these motorized bikes I want to build one so I will know what I am dealing with.

I wound up getting an engine and installed it on my own 26" mountain bike. After learning the "in-and-outs" of the installation process I immediately feel in love with it. I enjoyed riding my bike as a normal bicycle but now I could enjoy the benefit of riding it exclusively as a moped whenever I wanted. I find myself enjoying the later the most, now I have to discipline myself to get exercise on the bicycle.

How to buy one:

Now we have started a business selling these all brand new motorized bicycles in Chico, Ca. Locally we are currently selling fully assembled "ready to run" motorized beach cruiser. However with Chico, Ca being such a limited area I decided to design a website and market these motorized beach cruisers nationally. Being that these motorized bicycles do not fit into the boxes fully assembled I sell them through the website as partially assembled motorized bikes. On my website on the "products" page there is even a video that gives the potential buyer a detailed visual aid in the re-assembly of the motorized bike with down-loadable instructions and FAQ's. If this Blog has interested you we also have a video demo ride of these bikes and warmly welcome your feedback, view Our website at

I just ordered one of these from SC Green Motors. They're in Santa Cruz. I think they'll catch on in the cities because you can ride them just like a bike with a little extra power and they're awesome on gas. Good luck with your new business!
