Trends in Fitness: Muay Thai

For the last twenty years, weight loss and health have become the forefront of our society. Over that span, we've seen various exercise programs that promise to get you in the best shape of your life, thanks to the plethora of infomercials on television. However, it wasn't until westerners started searching outside of their realm and went to the eastern parts of the world did they see what the best program had been all along.

There they found Muay Thai, and if you want a no holds barred type of experience to work every muscle in your body and get ripped, this is it. Once you have a chance to try Muay Thai for the first time, those old boring workouts at the local gym will be a thing of the past. A system that has been around for centuries not only will make you stronger, faster, and in shape, but will be fun to do and give you a sound mind.

You have to travel to Thailand to find the original doctrine on Muay Thai fighting. Still the national sport today, this style of exertion is like no other and will test you to great lengths, in turn becoming a better person all around. So how does someone like yourself get involved in an intense workout regimen without traveling thousands of miles across the globe?

Today it starts in places like the Kombat Arts Training Academy, who encourage everyone both young and old to try something new. It may not be what you're used to, but if you really want the body you've been working towards for years, Muay Thai will help you reach your goals quicker.

Core strength, balance, flexibility, and functional strength are the first areas of physique you will find changing within your body as it literally becomes a weapon of one. The best part about Muay Thai is that not only will you see the benefits shaping you into the total package, but it can help with your health and self-esteem as well.

The cardiovascular benefits are astonishing as is the way it allows you to release mental stress on a whole new level. We know westerners need to deal with substantial amounts of stress and you all need a way to be at peace with yourself after a long day at work. Better blood circulation and effective towards combating Type 2 diabetes are just a few of several other health benefits Muay Thai gives you.

Most important, the sport of Muay Thai teaches you to not only defend yourself, but also your loved ones if a situation ever comes to pass. As you continue your training, it will be as though you have become a whole new person with a complete sense of direction in your life. Listen, we aren't saying Muay Thai performs miracles because it will be extremely tough; however, if you're up for the challenge, it will be the best exercise you've ever done before.

One thing to understand before we let you go here is this: don't think this is only for those who are fit already. Kombat Arts Training Academy understands everyone has a unique situation and so they allow you to move at your own pace. No matter what shape, size, or age you are, Muay Thai can be done. They even offer a free week to try it out and see exactly how things work so it will put your mind at ease. Well worth taking a look at something that will change your life for the better.

Do you see every health conscious person out there moving onto things like training in Muay Thai, or MMA or martial arts in general because it offers much more benefits than just plain weight lifting?

Yes, I definitely see more and more people switching to Muay Thai, especially in the Mississauga, Etobicoke, and Milton area. The reason being? Simply because it burns more than twice as much calories as lifting weights only. It also provides you with something more exciting, more dynamic and more functional body movements than lets say doing a bicep curl!

Yea thats true ... Muay Thai requires lot of energy ... but if you talk as a neutral then each and every act in MMA requires lot of energy and attention.
