Over the past few years, there has been a growing tendency to dub Muslims as terrorists. And leading from the front in this blame game is none other than the superpower, the United States. It is extremely sad that such a tolerant and loving community is being dubbed as behind the terror outfits.
It is gross injustice that the Muslims of this world are being treated as second class. How many of you think that Muslims are behind the terror plots, no matter where they happen? No doubt most of the terror outfits are comprised of Muslims, but is it correct to say that all Muslims are terrorists? If we look at the community as a whole, the Muslims will outnumber almost the rest. Indeed most of the rich nations are Muslim nations.
There are a few misguided youth who have spoilt the spirit of Islam, disturbed the Muslim norms, created havoc in the world, revoked the laws of the land, disturbed peace, affected fraternal relations, and above all marginalised the facets and tenets of the KORAN --the Holy Book-- that has been leading several generations ever since it came into being. It is not just the Muslims that bow before the Koran, I being a non-Muslim, too, bow before the most sacred book, and I have no doubt in saying that millions of non-Muslims treat the Koran as their HOLY BOOK--much like the Geeta of Hindus, the Bible of Christains, and the Guru Granth Sahib Ji of Sikhs. All these sacred, religious books preach their followers fraternity, brotherhood, and love for all --no matter which religion they belong. Wouldn't it have been wonderful, had all of us followed our religion, keeping in mind the sanctity of all other religions?
this is my request to everyone..standby your faith, your religion, your prayer, your worship, your norms, but for God's sake don't use the pious name of God for violence, waging wars, letting bloodshed, diluting sacred human values, massacring men, women, children and old n infirm,---just for the sake of POWER n SUPREMACY over others.
ASK God when, you leave for haven, how correct are those indulging in gross human rights violations just to gain power n prestige just to create dread, fear n havoc in the world.
Muslims are a religious community, who believe in the sanctity n virtues of the Koran n the Prophet --the Great Prophet, who taught them to fight those who kill innocents, to wage a jihad against those who r antihuman-- not against all n sundry..
So, how did Muslims started being dubbed as terrorists? Being a community rich of strength n valor, the powerful Muslim lords saw themselves reaping dividends by ruling over the world. Just this was the beginning...n the rest is history, v much the present--may b d future too.
But can we let the blood of our brethren, n fellow citizens flow like this in suicide bombings, bomb blasts n all such atrocious tactics of the so-called terrorists? The disgruntled few r in a state of dissatisfaction n to satisfy themselves have started waging a war on innocents that they call as jihad. however, they fail to understand that in doing so, they have tarnished the sacred name of ISLAM, n invited criticism from world over..resulting in the world calling the entire Muslim community as associated with terrorists.
For God's sake stop calling Muslims terrorists. They are a community that loves its religion, its God, its Prophet, and upkeep human values. The dissatisfied n misled among them r the real culprits, who need to be justified. I have so many Muslim friends and trust me, they all believe in upkeeping human values, they believe in brotherhood, fraternity, their heart cries at the suicide bombings, their lives r disturbed by terrorist activities. They love humanity, first.
Do you know so many Muslims have died in the suicide bombings and bomb blasts? If the terroists who care so much for their religion, loved their religion n fellow Muslims, will they kill them? Will they place bombs at places where muslims r predominant? will they target muslim locations n habitations?
they have targetted muslim habitations..hyderabad in INDIA is a glaring example, where so many muslims were killed in the blast incide the mosque. such disgruntled elements placed the bombs inside the mosque only to create misunderstanding between different communities so that people fight each other out, which would result in the victory of the terrorists.
A Muslim scholar from Pakistan says: "Our religion teaches us that the murder of an innocent person is the murder of humanity as a whole. "
MUSLIMS r not terrorists. muslims r friends n fellow citizens. please do not mistake such a tolerant community because of a misled few!

I fully agree with you. I see some of my own friends showing hatred towards every 'Pakistani' or 'Muslim' accusing them as terrorists. I have always tried to make them understand that (in vain) just because a some people have done wrong it is wrong to brand people in the entire Pakistan as terrorists or the muslims as terrorists.
Yes I agree with all of you because there is one logical reasoning which is reasonable that muslims are not terrorists and that is when there are bomb attacks or terror strikes or if you look upon the latest terror strike in Mumbai, Hotel Oberoi, Taj Mahal and others, there are also Muslims who have died, so I think blaming that all Muslims are terrorists is not reasonable.

We were study about peace, and not to harm, anything, anyone, even the prophets teaching us, to helping everyone, everykind of life, no matter what is belive in, no matter what they are.

Being a Muslim I would only like to say that my Religion is the best Religion....it calls for peace, it asks to labour for humanity....believe me once you try to go through the Holy Book, Quran you won't find any such thing which supports terrorism,neither it encourages violence nor bloodshed.....only some of the people have blackened the name of Islam and Muslims..!

It's my pleasure, Umna. Actually, the reality is that only a handful of crooked people have tarnished the image of Islam, a religion that calls for peace only. I am certain no GOD has ever taught crime, violence against humanity. It is only those people who, in the name of religion, mar the image of their religion itself by indulging in activities that disrupt human life. It's my earnest desire that the so-called terrorists open the Quran and have a glance at it, then they will realise that they had been strayed to a path contrary to what the HOly Book says.

But most terrorists today are muslims. How do you argue the repeated calls for jihad. do you believe in tha caliphate? The dangers from the muslim community's around the world are legion, there is no way to sugar coat it.
Severa non-Muslim terror groups are also operating, like Zapatista, ULFA, ETA, FARC, and also many racial groups, which are by no means less dangerous than the terrorists. Also, I do believe that who is a believer in the tenets of ISLAM will never accept malafide intentions of terrorist leaders linking religion with terrorism. No doubt, it is the absence of political and social reform in the Isamic world that fuels more and more dissent and terrorist leaders r exploiting those. It is up to the Muslims to show the world that they oppose terrorism and jihadist propaganda waged in the name of their religion and give a progressive look to the tenets of Islam, which preach peace and brotherhood. It is also an irony that most of the terrorist groups have Islamic and jihadist linkage, but I am sure the conscience of Muslims never approves inhuman acts of terrorists in the name of religion.

thinking aloud may i point out, you cant say most, you need to say some. im a muslim, i know about my religon, the whole point of religons is to bring peace, but some people want to make people believe in what they believe so they become terrorists, but it does not say anywhere in the quran treat non muslims with disrespect, you dont know much about islam. if there is any questions you can fell free to ask. some people just misunderstand, terrorists are in every religon, not only one. i will not disrespect the fact of non muslims beliefs, because nobody can agree on one religon, we need to accept life that way, if a muslim wishes to make people muslims, then they must be patience, and not too demanding, and should accpet what the decision the person made in the end, even if they dont convert to islam. i tell you this, you must know, and stop using stereotypes over people, it is just a lazy way of judging people, be patient and take your time. patience is one of the keys to life.

when you can argue that most terrorists threats around the world do not come from the muslim community , you may be on to something. unfortunately it is so, the most radical, the most willing to damage innocent life comes from the world wide muslim community. If you wish to speak from a so called moderate muslim stance, your efforts would be better spent rooting out the evil in your own communities. Not making excuses. I have read the Koran, and it is full of double speak, but the underlying fact is that it preaches the acceptable use of violence against it's perceived enemies. and for the most part they see their enemies as anything not muslim, or muslim and not of their own sect. Yes, the religion has been hijacked, but it's been hijacked based on it's own beliefs. That's not a hijacking, it's called a following.
i never once said most terrorism only comes from non muslims communities, you cant just assume any comment just like that. and there are many muslims who dont hate non muslims, like me, i have friends who are non muslim, one of the reasons why people think it comes from muslims is because of 9/11. and not saying all christains are bad, but some in the past had treated africans like slaves, and kicked the natives out of Australia, so every religon has bad people if you think about it. im so against killgin innocent and believe war should be stopped, but it happens to be that there are some who really want to kill people, but i rather be friendly with each other, in islam you must have noticed many of us refer to each other as "sister" or "brother", because prophet muhammed peace be upon him wanted peace, he also refered to muslims with "brother" and "sister". I will not see non muslims all as enemies, you may think im a liar and a hypocrite. But really do you think of me that way, it doesnt matter where im from, or how old am i. but whether or not i choose to be good or bad. lets pick another example, lets say some jews are bad, not all, because some put war in palastine. we need to be more pacific, and accept people being different religons, dont demand and torture them until they follow you. how interesting would the world be if everyone followed each other, interesting, huh, it wouldn't.

Nice thoughts, but your own Koran says you should not befriend anyone other than other muslims. And those that do not convert as you wish them to should either pay the tax or die. Not exactly as you want to portray it. While i'm sure you're a very nice person, but forgive us christians and jews for having no trust in the islamic community as a whole. Have you even tried searching and comparing religions, you would find it interesting and see the different and same about Christians, people who say most Muslims are terrorists, terrorism only comes from Islam need to explore the religion itself, who knows you might find something interesting. Quran does not only say be friends with only Muslims, I can be friends with non Muslims. Religions want peace. The only reason people fight is because they want to force people to believe what they believe.

All Muslims are not terrorists. Only an ignorant bigot or fool would believe that all people of any particular religion would be terrorists. The problem is that, today, and for about the last 30 to 50 years, the majority of terrorists in the world are Muslims -- who, generally, kill other Muslims, of course.
Of course, a good Muslim is supposed to love God and avoid evil; there are, e. g., bad Christians, bad Jews, etc. who really do not love God and, instead, seek evil, which they love; those particular Muslims who are terrorists are, thus, bad Muslims -- but, now get this point, they are still Muslims. Q. E. D.
All Muslims are not terrorists but let us suppose that five percent of Muslims worldwide are whacked - crazy, loco. That is truly what upsets the balance of the world.

Being a terrorist has nothing to do with religion itself. It's the misinterpretation of Religion that can sometimes lead to terrorism, which is never specific to one Religion more than another. We live in one world, and one world only. We shouldn't be wasting our time fighting pointless and unconquerable wars in countries that need international aid and assistance as opposed to murdering innocent people on the streets (whether intentional or not, war is war, and war is murder). Terrorists are terrorists, and religious generalizations about that type of lifestyle help no one, they actually contribute to the global cancer that is pain. All accusations of Muslim-based terrorism are made by people who have no idea what they're talking about, have no evidence to support their claims, and have no respect for the original intention of EVERY Religion: love. The world cannot afford more hate and violence and death. It's time for a new-age revolution--one to set the ball rolling for global communication and peace and, sappy as it sounds, love. There is no terrorism without terror, and there is no terror without the absence of morality, respect, and compromise. Terror stems from hatred, and the time to weed out the hate has always been and always will be now.
