This hub is not about anything fancy. It's all about the basic FUN-damentals of owning your own business that every successful entrepreneur must do - not once, not twice, but all the time.

You must practice basic fundamental internet business steps that really end up being FUN because they lead to success! Internet business basics are a little like shooting hoops from the free throw line in basketball - boring - but only at first!

WINNING the game always has to do with practicing the FUN-damentals, not the fancy moves. And winning loyal customers because of good business practices is super FUN!

These are the FUN-damentals of online marketing in the new age of Web 2.0. Write! You must write articles that add value to the world of online business. The days of Web 1.0 are over where all you thought you had to do was pay someone to put up a static website to get customers.

But do not get into the trap of writing artilcle after article after article, trying to win google love. Write for real people. And follow these terri-fic tips for internet business success!

• Set Your Own Hours - Be realistic. If 15 hours per week seems reasonable to you, given your current busy schedule, then commit to those hours at specific times. Pencil them into your calendar. These are appointments with your very first VIP client (YOU) so make arrangements to not miss the meeting!
• Find A Mentor There are so many great internet business entrepreneurs to learn from that you might be tempted to sign up with too many. That will lead to distraction, overwhelm, failure to act, confusion, and discouragement. Pick one, just one, and determine to learn from them for at least 30 days.
• Relax! Don't expect to make money online for 6 months. Enjoy going to "school" with your mentor. Enjoy writing articles, making videos, and joining in on the conversations at social media sites. These are probably all new skills for you. Just remember students are often kind of poor while in school. You will become professional in time. All professionals begin with education first, then they start their career to make a living.
• Your #1 Asset - Your Brand From the very first bit of online work you do, whether it is interacting in a forum, writing a Squidoo :) or making a video, remember you are creating your #1 asset, your brand name. All successful businesses advertise. That's one of the business expenses you will need to budget for BUT, that's a business expense. Your #1 business asset is creating a brand called YOU that people can trust. Don't blow your reputation as many newbies do with advertising hype and false claims.

When I first began my internet business, all I knew is that I really wanted to make money online. I had just lost my job and I didn't want to go back to work for a while. I was discouraged to say the least but I knew I had the entrepreneurial spirit.

So I focused on that - I focused on my entrepreneurial spirit, not my discouragement.

I already had a network marketing business or at least I was trying to build one. Since I didn't have a lot of training in sales, I had little confidence in going full time into MLM.

But I had this desire to try to build my MLM online instead of off. That desire turned out to be a turning point in my new career. I soon found out that I could make money online even from customers who did not join my MLM but who had the same mindset that I do. And that mindset is FUN-damental to success online or in any business for that matter...

FUN-damental Mindset: "When You Help Others Succeed, So Will YOU!"

Any successful business helps other people. Otherwise they would go out of business. Who do you want to help? What type of service do you want to provide? What sort of product do you want to market?

Your mindset has to be a desire to help a specific target market.

It can be as vague as mine at first. I knew I wanted to have an internet business that could reach people who were interested in health and wellness. Building a Multi-level Marketing (MLM) business based on promoting health is perfect for me. As a nursing director, I knew I could build successful teams around health and wellness. I'd been doing that for years in management, working for someone else.

So what's the deal about marketing for beach money?  As Jordan Adler teaches, beach money is just a concept.  It's the dream.  Maybe your dream is to put your children into a private school.  That's beach money - only it's called private school money.  Or maybe it's to retire early from your job. 

Whatever it is, market for money with the end in mind, the dream.  Afterall, you don't really want to make money online.  You want what money can provide for you, your family and for your customers who depend on you.

So my i-Biz Terri-fic Target Market Tip is to choose to market to a group of people that you have a strong desire to help, using unique skills you already have. If you have a strong desire toward healthy living, choose an MLM that has more than one nutritional supplement in their product line. Don't limit yourself to anti-oxidants or weight loss suppliments. If you do, you will soon find out that you've run out of things to say. Article marketing around the entire industry of health and wellness including natural skin care products will always keep you busy writing.

Later, after you develop your new online marketing skills, you will be able to target any market, any niche, any popular products and even those not so well known. But don't bite off more than you can chew, especially at first.

A health and wellness MLM will serve you well way out into the future. Start there and work your way up into an internet business that sells all kinds of products. Multi-level marketing is a great start because of residual income. Get that in place first. Afterall, MLM is the fundamental mindset of helping others succeed in order for you to succeed. All successful entrepreneurs think like that.
