Georgia to me

Aunt Georgia is my depiction of the state of Georgia. She claims to be less than 100 years; however, I remember her 85th B'day celebration in 1986. She is the eldest daughter of my late Grandmother Linnie Spikes. My mother, Essie {mid 70s} is the baby of 14 siblings.

Aunt Georgia loved to fish; go to wrestling matches {Huge Hulk Hogan Fan}; travel to visit her children and grands; go to church; kept a variety of peculiar flowers and trees. She loved cooking, music, dancing and is rarely caught without a smile on her face.

She does not meet strangers and still has the same phone number issued over 70 years. If anyone ever knew her phone number they still do. She was duped on the phone trade from the old fashioned black rotary dial phone, she was told she would receive a premium for the trade - it is the grace of her demeanor not to be law suit happy for not receiving the promised premium. This woman reeks of history and diversity. She befriended many Native Americans back in the 30s as well as other travelors who were not welcome at local public facilities. She has welcomed, fed and entertained untold hundreds, in her lifetime.

Aunt Georgia is now under the care of several Grandchildren; she still maintains her drink box and candy sales. Her health is great, rarely uses glasses and walks freely to and from a sister's house on Jordan Street.
