I joined Facebook about five years ago, but never went through with the full process. Then about two years ago my sister asked if I was on Facebook so that we could keep in contact since we live in two different countries.I was hesitant about joining Facebook fully because I had recently given up on MySpace, but still went online and filled out the rest of my Facebook. Within a month I was being bombarded by high school and college friends. Then slowly after that the applications started popping up, first it was Vampires. I was reluctant at first and very slow to respond and then the pressure from my Facebook friends was too much and I tried it. I was into Vampires for a few months and then the novelty wore off quickly, next came MobWars and I was not even remotely interested in that application. There were many more that I chose to ignore and still do ignore. I would however play and still do play games with some of my friends, like Lexulous (a form of Scrabble) or Word Twist (kind of like Boggle). However my aversion to the Facebook applications would all change when a friend got me hooked on myFarm.
I was hesitant at first about trying myFarm out but as soon as I started I was hooked. myFarm was the perfect application for me. It is still relatively new only a few months old so they are still adding functions and items to the game. Now I am a myFarm addict and have a serious problem. But at least it keeps me out of trouble, for the most part.
myFarm is like SimCity but farm style. Once you start myFarm you can immediately change the name of your farm. You and your Facebook friends can send each other gifts of trees or animals from the Send Gifts tabs. You can also look at your and your friends’ farms through the Friends tab.

G-Ma - I have not tried Dogworld yet I might have to check it out. I have to say that myFarm takes up a great deal of my time and I am trying to slowly ween myself down from it so I am not on so much lol. I don't think I am friends on Facebook with anyone from hubpages or at least I don't think so!!
Isn't it amazing the great things we have to pick from. I just wish I had more time would get right into this lol
Yeah I definitely need more time in the day for all the things I want and need to do. lol.
Well I am Merle Ann Johnson on Facebook...G-Ma :O) Hugs
Sweet G-Ma I added you. I am a Johnson as well!!
Facebook is the most delightful time-suck of modern times. I love it!
Sounds great! Too bad it is not that easy in real life (planting and trading). I can see where I could easily get addicted to that application.
MH - Time suck is an understatement. I see some people on from sunup to sundown, I wish I had that kind of time but then I would be in jail for child neglect.
DM - It is addicting, I am weaning myself off slowly lol.
What a cool thing on Facebook, I just watched a episode of Oprah and she has a Facebook account too, I think it will be a great way for fans to connect with their favorite celebrities or keep up with our favorite shows, sharing with friends and family too!
RA - Yes Facebook has its good and bad side but as far as keeping in touch and marketing it is a great resource.
TM, I am goign to have to try that. I play a download game called youda farmer and another called Ranch Rush and this seems a lot like them. Thanks for posting it.
Gwendymom - I really enjoy it infact I am about to go plow my fields and harvest my trees right now. lol. Hope you like it.
My mom and I are also "addicts". Although we live an ocean apart we still call each other to harvest when crops are ready. lol. It's also a great place to interact and meet new people. I know a few friends who now operate more than one farm because they are so addicted! I love it:)
I have heard of people having more than one farm and getting the really big farms too. It is addicting with more things coming. I can't wait.
I so love playing farm town. It is one of my favorites!!
HC - I think its cool that there are now 2 different types of farming games on FB; Farm Town and MyFarm.
I am sorry, but i have no idea how to sell animals. How do i do it?
Joshua - You have to buy the barn to be able to sell animals.
I must say, I LOVE MyFarm. I started playing it about a month ago. I am hooked. I love facebook.
dwmiller - Same here. I am definitely addicted to MyFarm. I need to stop but I can't. lol
