nLite is a great utility that creates a customized Windows install disk. It has many nice features, such as, unattended install, embedded drivers, embedded service packs and security patches, and many other options. It’s also nice for those that didn’t get a Windows install disk with their computer. It has a built-in CD burner so you can easily burn a Windows install CD. All you need is the i386 folder (Windows install files) on your computer. Just follow these steps to create your own customized Windows install disk:

1.  Download and install nLite from the following link: http://www.nliteos.com/download.html

.

2.  Begin the nLite install.  It will point you to download .Net Framework if you do not already have it installed.   Net Frame is a Microsoft product that is used with many newer utilities.  Begin the nLite install again if you had to install .Net Framework.

3. Point to the i386 folder, which should be on your C: drive.  Just type c:\ in the space provided.

4.  You can skip the Available Preset screen.  The Task Selection screen has my nice options.  I would at least select the last option (Bootable ISO) if you want to burn a Windows install CD.

5. Select under General >Mode>Burn Image then put a blank CD in your burner and select Burn to start burning your Windows install CD.
