What is the impact of today’s economy on network marketing?

I know it is so disheartening for many people at this time in history to see such drastic changes in the economy, not just here in the US but globally. It seems like only yesterday, when very few people were really all that concerned about recession, depression, inflation, the stock market, the real estate market, etc. even though all the signs were there.

We know that history repeats itself, but the repeating seems to be happening sooner. The cycles in our economy’s ups and downs are shorter but the stakes are higher. For example, now we have not just fewer jobs but fewer high-paying jobs.

Network Marketing, Attraction Marketing and The Law Of Attraction

Here’s one thing that I’ve discovered in life and business. Some people tend to ride the economic roller-coaster with more grace than others. Many of them are in the network marketing industry. But they have learned one more key ingredient to success. It’s called attraction marketing. In life, it is called the Law of Attraction by the philosophers of our day.

The outcomes of the Law Of Attraction and the results of attraction marketing are not dependent on a conscious decision. Attraction always exists. Success happens to people who decide to attract good things - good friends, good customers, good partners, good training, good everything! Attraction marketing in network marketing benefits all who use this strategy.

These successful people will tell you that they were not born with this attraction factor. Self development is on purpose with these people. Many of them are quite wealthy but many are not. It just depends on purpose.

Network Marketing And Me

Right now, my goal is to be healthy and wealthy, on purpose. But that goal has nothing to do with fear of the economy. I’ve often thought at times over the course of my life that perhaps before I leave this earth, I will purposefully serve as a Christian missionary in Haiti. If I’m poor there or even here in America, the critical issue is, am I living on purpose?

I think of Paul the Apostle and Joseph the Israelite. Both men had economic good times and bad times. In Paul’s first career he was wealthy and highly respected but he was also persecuting Christians, wanting them all dead. During his second career as a Christian missionary, he was poor.

Joseph was raised in a very wealthy family and was the favorite of his father’s 12 sons. He was probably spoiled rotten. He went from rich to poor when his brothers jealously sold him into slavery. But then he became wealthy. Because of his talents and integrity, he was promoted to a very high-paying job. Of course, then, he was falsely accused and thrown into prison for several more years. Then practically overnight he promotes from poor and in prison to the highest position in the land, serving as pharaoh’s top executive.

Here’s the point I’m trying to make. Paul helped more people while he was poor. Joseph helped more people while he was rich. Money is not the best indicator of success.

At this point in my life, I have left corporate America (again) to build a network marketing business (again.) There was a time earlier in my life that I purposely left the network marketing business to go back to work in corporate America. But in each case, my purpose was and is the same. For richer or poorer, I’m committed to helping people. You can’t succeed in network marketing without at least doing that!
