Internet Marketing Merging With Network Marketing – Phone Follow Up with Internet Generated Leads
55
Just because you generate a lead over the internet, this doesn’t mean that you will never have to call the lead on the phone. Knowing how to call leads on the phone is a vital part of the internet marketing and recruiting process.
You can do everything else correctly when merging internet marketing with online network marketing, but if you fail in your phone prospecting, your sponsorship success could suffer.
There are some vital strategies that you must implement if you want to be successful with phone prospecting. Here are some guidelines.
Know when to consult and when to recruit in your network marketing business
If you are using an attraction marketing and funded proposal strategy to market your business opportunity online, you must understand the difference between making a phone call for consulting purposes and making a phone call for recruiting purposes.
When you generate leads online you should plan a portion of your day dedicated just to calling these leads. You will make significantly more money if you call your leads than you will if you simply rely on the autoresponders.
Many of your leads are going to be in a position where you want to focus on consulting, not recruiting.
For instance, if a lead has opted into your list to request a free report, this is a lead that should be consulted with, not recruited.
However, if this same lead starts making inquiries as to what network marketing company you are involved in and starts asking questions about your business opportunity, that is a lead that you can call for recruiting purposes.
Never waste a phone call
I see so many distributors who call leads regardless of how they are generated and completely waste a phone call. If the voice mail picks up, they won’t leave a message. If someone from the house picks up they won’t leave a message if the prospect isn’t home. This is a complete waste of a phone call.
Instead the right approach is to take advantage of as many opportunities to make contact with the prospect as possible. If you are unable to speak to the prospect on the initial call, make sure you don’t waste the call. Leave a message for the prospect. Some of them will actually call you back.
Sort your leads before calling
The more you can sort through your leads before calling them, the better your recruiting efforts are going to be.
For instance, you don’t want to be calling leads that have opted out of your autoresponder. By the same token, if you have a choice between calling a lead who responded to a free offer vs. calling a lead who purchased your funded proposal, you want to call the lead who spent money first.
Incorporate your phone calls as part of your lifestyle, not like a call center
Many network marketing distributors try to set out specific times to do their phone prospecting. They like to set up the perfect time where they can go into their office and crank out phone calls. A better approach is to make your phone calls as part of your lifestyle.
For example, if you have young children, you can print your leads to call and then take your children to the park. While your children play on the slides and the swings, you can sit down on a nearby bench and make your calls.
Don’t be afraid to tell your prospects what you are doing either. In fact, I encourage it! It will significantly help your prospecting efforts.
By incorporating these principles in your prospecting efforts you should be happy with the results you get in your network marketing business!

Many think that if they market their MLM online, that they will never have to speak to their prospect.
Wrong!
You need to connect to make it real for the other person. Creating a relationship will grow your attraction and provide a true service to those looking to solve a problem.

There is definitely a thin line between recruiting and consulting with your prospects over the phone. You make some great points MarketMagnet I especially like the don't waste a phone call tip.
I think I actually leave more messages with prospects than talking to them over the phone and you're right many of them do call you back, you know what they say "the money is in the follow up".
