Network Marketing Team Building– It’s Easier to Build Fast than to Build Slow
71In network marketing today it’s actually easier to build your team at a fast pace than it is to build at a slow pace. That seems like a very contrary statement. Doesn’t it take more work to build the business quickly?
Yes and no.
While granted it does take more work initially to build the business quickly, in the long run a distributor who builds the business slowly will do significantly more work than a distributor who builds the business quickly.
12 Recruits A Year or 12 Recruits in 30 Days?
People love to feel like they are part of a winning team. This is why it’s significantly easier to build a network marketing team quickly.
In The Magic of Compound Recruiting, Hubert H Humphrey talks about why it’s important to do your recruiting in waves and bunches instead of one at a time. Hubert H Humphrey was actually the #1 income earner in Primerica when it was still known as AL Williams Insurance Company.
In the book Hubert Humphrey tells the story of two network marketing distributors. Each distributor recruits 12 people personally. The only difference is one recruited those 12 people over the course of a year into his business opportunity, one each month. The other recruited all 12 people in 30 days.
Hubert Humphrey asks which distributor will get the most out of those 12 people. The answer, and you will know this if you have experienced this yourself in your network marketing business, is the distributor that recruited the 12 people in 30 days.
Why would the 2nd distributor get more out of the same number of distributors? It’s called the magic of teams.
People want to feel like they are a part of something. The 12 recruits in 30 days have likely met each other, been to meetings, been on conference calls with each other and so on. As a result they are more likely to stick around.
The 12 people over the course of a year might not even know about each other. By the time the later recruits come on board the earlier recruits have already quit.
This is a Numbers Game
Network marketing is simply a numbers game. The more numbers you put into the equation, the more success you are going to have and the faster that success is going to come.
This is why it is important take inventory of your prospecting efforts to play the numbers game well.
For example, suppose you do a presentation to 10 prospects. Out of the 10, one signs up for the business right away.
Let’s also suppose that you need to recruit 7 new distributors in order to find 1 that will duplicate the 1 out of 10 recruiting results as well.
One distributor does 10 presentations a month. The other does 10 presentations a week. What’s the difference in their results? It’s huge!
The distributor that does 10 presentations a month will get 1 recruit a month. Over the course of a year, they will find one person who will actually do anything. His team after a year will be less than a dozen people.
The distributor that does 10 presentations a week will get 4 recruits a month. Every other month they will find one person who will actually do something to build their network marketing business. Compounded over the course of a year, this distributor would have a team of hundreds of distributors.
This is why it’s easier to build a network marketing business fast. Building the business fast gets your results fast, which gets your income up fast. Additional income builds your belief level faster and also gives you additional financial resources that you can reinvest into your business.
So build your network marketing business fast, not slow and watch your income explode!

One of the benefits of building fast is momentum.
When teams start seeing the power of duplication, income streams generated, then there is no stopping the process.
