How to never eat at home for the rest of your life
67
This is simple to write for me because I am known for never cooking my own food or eating at home (my mom makes fun of me for it). If you don't like to eat at home because it's too much work, you don't have the necessary cooking supplies, or you don't like being by yourself, here are some ways you can get around it:
- Work at a restaurant - When I work for restaurants, I either eat my meals there or bring them home, and I rarely end up having to cook myself. Sometimes at the end of a shift, the restaurant will end up throwing away everything cooked that customers didn't order... Why should perfectly good food go to waste? The chances are that the food is better than anything I could make, anyway. Also, you can get discounts that are hard to refuse if you're a restaurant employee, up to 50 percent (or more, if you sneak).
- Go to college - Only hardcore cookers or people with very finicky or special appetites will make food for themselves in college. Whether you're on a meal plan as a freshman, hungry on campus at any time, or out to eat with friends at the newest or classic restaurant, there are plenty of opportunities or avoid eating at home. Also, there are always the freshman kids who never use all of their meal credits, so befriend them and allow them to let you help finish their plan.
- Meet rich people with a love for food - Well, I can't say I've taken advantage of this TOO much, but there have definitely been times when I didn't have to pay for my food because a friend had a surplus of money, or a good connection to a restaurant.
- Collect coupons - It's hard to pass up eating out at a restaurant if you just got a coupon for a buy one, get one free deal at your favorite eatery. Start a collection so you can have a good variety of places to choose from when hunger strikes.
- Never go grocery shopping - I try not to shop for groceries so we'll be forced to have to go out. I hate having to make food (it's faster if someone else makes it, in my case).
- Complain about having no food - Sometimes it's hard for a parent to hear their baby moan about hunger and not do anything...
- Make fast food your new favorite - So you think you can't afford to eat out all the time? Try a Dollar Menu and your options will increase exponentially... as will the fat, calories, and cholesterol.
So as you can see, eating out all the time and not cooking your own food isn't always the best or healthiest option, but if you really don't want to eat another can of tuna, maybe it's time to spoil yourself for one meal. Or five.

I once read a story by Ruth Rendell where the character in the story kept his nice figure and never got fat because he insisted on having a flat without a kitchen or food of any kind. That way he had to eat out all the time and of course that is more expensive than cooking your own food, so he saved money that way too because he only ate when he really was hungry. So I think you have something here with your hub! :)
K. So this request wasn't as stupid and dorky as I thought it would be. I'm so sick of the microwave and you've give me new motivation for going out and collecting coupons from eateries. Thx! Thumbs up!!!!!
Another one - move to China - food is so cheap there
This is a great hub. I thought it would honestly be boring to read but it was great. Thanks
Thanks everyone! Yeah, I wasn't quite sure what I was going to end up with when I started writing this, but I guess it ended up ok :)
HI Sara
One more thing to add here. If you work at a restaurant and bring the home, you're still eating at home! Do you have another idea?????
...Well, fishskinfreak, you're always welcome to stay at work and eat. Then you can hang out with your coworkers and not be alone, unless if they annoy you...
