61Ninja Affiliate: An Affiliate Link Cloaking Plugin
Are you using Wordpress to sell affiliate products, either as an eCommerce site or a blog? The biggest frustration you'll ever encounter is getting people to click your affiliate links, when they look like blatant re-directs. For all of you CJ.com users and your "http://www.anrdoezrs.net/click-XXXXXXX-XXXXXXXX" links, the need to locally re-write these links is absolutely paramount.
The simple fact is that most people hover over a link to see where it's pointing to, before clicking it. If they don't like what they see, they'll bounce. Without credibility, there is no trust...and without trust, there won't be a sale - it's simple consumer behavior!
How Ninja Affiliate Works
To remedy the issue of sketchy looking affiliate links, MaxBlogPress Ninja Affiliate allows you to "create" a substitution link to take its place. For instance, you can simply create a new link, copy and paste your real affiliate link, rename it to whatever you want (the suggested choice is "mysite.com/my-product"), cloak the link, and save.
When this extremely quick procedure is complete, all instances of your affiliate link will appear as "mysite.com/my-product," rather than the shady looking affiliate link you were using from the provider.

Additional Features with Ninja Affiliate
The option seen in the screenshot above for "Cloak It" is a neat feature: it actually changes the meta title attribute of the page. Whatever you enter in that field will appear as the title of the page in the browser after clicking the link and loading the destination page.
Beyond renaming individual text and image links, Ninja Affiliate also has a feature called "Convert keywords to Ninja Links," which will allow you to type out a list of keywords and keyword phrases. When done, Ninja Affiliate will go through your entire blog and replace all of those words with an affiliate hyperlink of your choice. So, if you want to replace all existing and future instances of the word "HDTV" on your site with an affiliate link for Sony, it's a simple process that can be completed in one step.
There are also measures to edit the frequency in which these Ninja Links appear, in case you're afraid of it looking a little spammy. A frequency editor will enable you to disallow more than 2 instances of a hyperlinked keyword on a page, and tweak many other settings. Set NoFollow to your affiliate links, too -- there's no need to pass page rank to them!
