I have a Nokia 6630 mobile phone and I regularly use it as a modem for surfing the internet.

Unlike many other people who are chasing or always looking for the latest mobile phone models, I bought this second hand Nokia 6630 for RM400 ( around USD120 ).

Although there was no guarantee that this used Nokia mobile phone would be function normally.

This one which I bought more than one year ago still works normally without problem.

Now, I'm really satisfied with this Nokia 6630 performances furthermore this is my first 3G mobile phone.

Remember, when you buy the latest mobile phone, the price is really expensive ( at least to me ) and you are actually paying for the R & D ( Research & Development ) carried by the mobile phone company.

As the year goes by, the price will exponentially drop to the lower and lower price.

Beside listening to MP3 songs, I can use this Nokia 6630 as a modem.

Because I have problem to connect the modem using USB cable, I use BlueSoleil USB dongle to connect it to the computer via bluetooth connection.

If I want to surf internet, I use the Dial Up Networking Service in the BlueSoleil menu to connect to Celcom 3G internet connection.

Celcom is a Telco provider in Malaysia.

I only subscribe to the daily unlimited internet for just RM6 a day as of this writing.

I need to be in 3G network coverage to able to surf the internet because this Nokia 6630 doesn't support GPRS or EDGE network.

The internet connection speed is not really fast, sometimes I got frustrated because of the 3G network problem as well as 'traffic congestion' which there are so many people using it.

I remember the first time I surfed the internet using 56k modem 8 years ago.

In my humble opinion, the speed from this 56k modem is better and almost uninterruptable.

I don't blame the Nokia 6630 as the source of problem but the Telco should do something to fix it.

But I'm grateful with this 3G internet connection as I can download a lot of free stuffs and update my blog.

Furthermore this Nokia 6630 mobile phone is perfect as a modem especially when you are on the go.

Beside Celcom, you can subscribe to Digi daily internet connection for RM6 per day at the time of writing.

But you need the phone that supports GPRS or EDGE network. My Nokia 6630 is not compatible to subscribe to Digi mobile internet as it only support the 3G network.

But I heard the Digi will support the 3G network soon but I don't know exactly when.
