Derogatory

Come on, give us a hug you old hag.

That may sound like a derogatory way of asking for love but when you come to understand the words hug and hag then it is actually a very respectable comment and maybe even a good come on line for someone who is willing to take a slap or two before finding the right soul mate who can read between the lines.

I was researching the word trade when I came across the words hug and hag.

Let me explain why you might want to use this as a pick up line in your pursuit for romance.

Do you see the old hag or the young women. It's all in the focus.
Do you see the old hag or the young women. It's all in the focus.

The Old Folk craft

Travel back in time when the Germanic tribes were moving north and cells of people were finding individuality. These groups gave rise to cultures and they developed their own languages and each language carried a set of symbols - words - where each combination of symbols represented an idea or concept.

For example, the Germanic tribes used "kraft" to describe "strength". The old English version was "craeft". Another old English word was "hyge" which represented the magic of creation or the psychic source. Therefore "hyge-craeft" referred to the magic of creation. It is synonymous to the old Greek noun "poiesis", and to the more modern term "mutagenesis". The symbols might be different but the underlying idea or concept is basically the same.

Hyge was hug to the Norse folk. Hug was hag to the Swedish folk. These words all involved the idea or concept that there is a sixth sense and a sixth dimension of being, understanding, and gaining knowledge and wisdom.

With knowledge and wisdom comes strength. Being strong in one domain or another gives one the power to trade. Therefore to exchange "craeft" is to trade.

hug hag hyge tomato tomato

Words in themselves are magical. They can be used to spin ideas and concepts into frameworks and laws. Words are powerful.

The old hag knew that and she was always busy finding knowledge and increasing her wisdom. She was most likely a pagan and I am sure a few good old hags were burnt at the stake for practicing their craeft.

Hug hag hyge

These are all words in different languages of the past that point to the psychic element of life. They point to personality, thoughts, feelings, and desire.

The term "old hag" likely can be traced back to an old women with psychic abilities or to a women who would have had the seemingly magical ability of psyching you out.

So being an old hag is a good thing if you can avoid the "witch hunters".

Give us a hug you old hag...

There you have it.

A hug is a good thing as it shows compassion between humans. A hag is a good thing for it - she - brings "down to earth" those more "spaced out" elements of the psychic source lying somewhere in the sixth dimension of being.

The hyge is a good thing and connects the mind, body, and spirit, in a holistic harmonic whole.

So come on you old hag give us a hug...................who knows we may just be soul mates who's  ethereal flames of desire is about to merge into a form visible to the lower five dimensions of being.

Poiesis is poetic. Pure science is raw. The use of symbols and symbolic words is how they bring about meaning to chaos. Both can be very pleasant or very dangerous.

I guess it all comes down to who is casting the spells.

Definitely not what I was expecting. Well written and informative. I enjoyed this one even though it isn't what I was expecting.

Great piece, the notion that words have a magic is so true...Words are the thoughts of deeds, the form of the expression ~ the hug.

Yes, well done...Thanks for sharing...

You have me thinking again loua ....words are the thoughts of deeds and the form of the expression.

That's deep.

Worth enough for another hug...i mean another hub.

That one might be a story or another language lesson Duchess.

Not sure yet.
