Using OnlyWire to Create Backlinks Quickly

As we all know, bookmarking sites are great for creating backlinks and getting you better ranking on Google. There is a site that was recommended to me in the blog of one of the internet's biggest and richest gurus, The Rich Jerk. Unless you have him blocked, you'll see his ads on Hubpages all the time. I had paid $10 for his book (which did me little good, as it was mostly about Adwords) and am now sent updates to his new blog, which has some valuable information for members.

In one blog post, he told us about OnlyWire, a bookmarking site extraordinaire. This site will send your bookmarks to up to 20 sites at once. Of course, you have to register for the sites, but after you do, all you do is click on the ones you want the link sent to, fill out a description, and hit the button. Automatically, you have that many backlinks to your site.

I was skeptical about this, because the only site I recognized was de.licio.us, which has pretty much banned all the article sites, including Hubpages. So how was this going to help me?

It helps because search engines, especially Google, look at how many backlinks you have to your pages. A lot of us spend hours on bookmarking sites posting our links to get traffic, but that's not what these sites are about. I have never gotten one hit from the sites on OnlyWire, but shortly after I started posting every page I created, and every article I wrote on it, my page rank went from 0 to 3 on Google, and I started getting three times as many hits from Yahoo as I had been. My articles that had been reindexed after moving them seemed to move back to the second and third page of Google very quickly. They say if you are not on the first three pages of Google search, you might as well not be on it. Most people find what they're looking for on the first three pages.

How does this work? Google, for instance, looks at all the backlinks coming to your site and says "Wow, this person is getting a lot of backlinks, we'd better look at them." In short, it gets the search engines' attention, and unless you can get their attention, you have no chance of getting a good page rank. You need to make them recognize you, and see that other sites are recognizing you.

I'm not saying this is the answer to all your traffic and ranking problems, but every drop in the bucket brings it nearer to full, so it can't hurt. Yes, there is some time involved in setting up all the accounts, but at least you don't have to go to all of them individually, posting your bookmarks, which is very time consuming and to be honest, aggravating at times. Anything that can make posting bookmarks easier is good for me.
