Released by Oxford Storypods, this audiobook is different from most British audiobooks in that it is produced on an mp3 CD. Being Lewis Carroll fans and based in Oxford, it was inevitable that Oxford Storypods would choose Alice in Wonderland for their first title, with a selection of nonsense poetry - e.g. Jabberwocky - and prose extracts as a bonus.

Listening to unabridged audiobooks is not the most user-friendly experience as it often entails carrying around, at least, half a dozen CDs or cassettes plus the inconvenience of stopping to change CDs or cassettes numerous times as you work your way through the audiobook. Oxford Storypods decided to solve the problem by producing their audiobooks on MP3 CDs. At a stroke, the listener is able to enjoy many hours of audio material from just one CD, with the added benefit of reduced cost. MP3 players produced in the last 6 years or so are becoming so common that you can now buy one for as little as £15. MP3 CDs can be played on most computers and is easy to download to iPod or other MP3 device.

As there are many very talented actors in Oxford who regularly grace the stage, it was not difficult to find actors who could match the big names. These amazing performers speak, declaim, scream, sob - and even sing - their way through this timeless classic. Bringing out both the humour and pathos typical of Lewis Carroll, this is an audiobook not only for children, but also anyone who enjoys Pythonesque humour. Lewis Carroll is the original Python. Jabberwocky, a perennial favourite, recited by Bill Moulford, would make anyone smile.
