Make money reading emails, clicking on ads, and taking surveys?

Paid-to-read email spam.

RESEARCH IS NEEDED

Be careful about entering your email address and other personal information into systems that offer payment for reading emails, answering surveys, viewing ads and related types of income opportunities. It is likely best to set up a separate, free, anonymous email account just for answering ads and emails concerning these income opportunities. That way, your other email account(s) are safe from spam and you are safe from identity theft.

MY EXPERIENCES

Some of my friends and I have tried several programs that advertise extra income for clicking on and reading paid emails and Internet paid ads. They were fun initially, but became very tedious is short order and some were outright scams.

All in all, it is better to join Hub Pages and Google AdSense, along with the eBay, and Amazon affiliate programs in conjunction with writing Hubs and have a good time while earning a bit of money!

PAID EMAILS AND ADS

What we have found is that you never actually earn enough money to be paid in these programs. There may be some legitimate systems available through the Internet, but, unfortunately, we have not yet found them.

One of the most frustrating systems is one in which you must click ads and check off check boxes through several pages of ads in order to qualify for or earn $100 --On the last page, there is no button or link to click in order to complete the process. Therefore, you are unable to earn anything, but the system has your email address so that they can send you other advertising, which overloads your inbox and bulk mail box if you have one. In the process, hopefully, you have received some free offers and not spent too much money on the pages and pages of other offers you read. Also hopefully, they have not gained access to your credit card number, address and phone number in order to perform identity theft.

Sometimes, a system asks for you to enter your email address, with the promise of sending you free information, However, you receive nothing and they have your email address for spamming your email account. Sometimes they even use your email address in fake headers so that they can spam other people and show your email account as the culprit. The spammers actual IP address can often be traced, however, so you should not have your email account or Internet accessed closed down; but, this is all the more reason to avoid entering your email address into websites that offer money-making systems.

Other systems offer 1/4 cent or 1/10th cent per click for looking at ads and you have to accumulate $25 in order to be paid. Thus, you must view at least 10,000 ads to earn $25 and then, sometimes the system malfunctions so that you do not reach 10,000 ads. Some systems offer 1 cent or 10 cents per ad, but I have found that they are not successful systems, either.

PAID EMAILS

Actually, in the programs that offer payment for reading emails, you are not paid for actually clicking on the emails. You might earn some money from answering the email, however, because the emails contain other programs and income opportunities. Sometimes they offer you a booklet or ebook for $39.95 or $49.95 and you are to copy it and sell it yourself, just as they sold it to you.

You once were able to find these programs in the back of "True Crime" magazines and comic books. Currently, the systems have been largely transferred to the Internet. Chain letters were once sent through snail mail. Now, chain emails serve the same purpose.

PAID SURVEYS

There are very few survey companies that pay real money for taking surveys online, but a few actually do pay. Some of these companies actually pay only "points" that you accumulate and enter into drawings for cash. Very few people win actual money. Survey and research companies that pay are usually located locally in your own home town or nearby and also offer paid focus group attendance.

In focus groups, participants can be paid for their opinions about a political candidate or a new product or service - even upcoming legislation -- and sometimes the fee paid is $50 - 100 or more and a good dinner is served during the focus group. Look in your Yellow Pages for marketing companies and look on Craigslist under "jobs" and search for "focus group." You may need to register with these companies online or give them a call and do it over the phone. You might be able to qualify for a few focus groups each year, but likely not enough for a living income.

I earned $300 a year ago by participating in an online focus group concerning marketing and computer-based business solutions. A neighbor earned $75.00 and a dinner at a high-end restaurant for offering opinions about a presidential candidate in 2004. Thus, there are some real opportunities to be found. Craigslist seems to have the most good ones listed, and second is some fo the newspaper display ads that you can find. The tiny ads in the classified ads may be phony and they cost quite a bit less than display ads (about the size of a business card or larger).

For myself, I stick with focus groups with occasional surveys. The paid-to-read email programs have not worked for me.

.

Best regards to all who search for paid programs online!

SYSTEMS THAT DO NOT WORK

I have found, myself, that these systems require a lot of time and never pay.

However, since seeing is believing and it is often times best to learn by doing -- or checking it out for yourself -- here they are in the following list. If anyone has been successful with these programs, please let me know.

Hi Patty, great article. I have been around the block myself on many of those opps. What I have found is similar to what you have; there are definitely legit ones and there are definitely scams...all it takes is some homework, and due diligence.

Mostly, my experience has been it's not worth the time invested in the little ones with small payout...they usually require all kinds of work, clicks, and precious t ime for a small pauoff...like 2 cents a click...the legitamate focus groups are by far the higest paying and biggest bang for your time. You can do a search on the internet for local ones and just make sure they have a nice big local office, and are in multiple cities, and don't charge you!

I've decided to focus on the top tier programs that pay big like in direct sales that have really nice commisions and payout structure without have to do any selling.

It's all about systems...thanks for the article!

Great article!

You are SO right with those "paid ads" and "paid e-mail" websites. I totally remember the days of sitting in front of a computer for hours on end, hoping I'd make $5...ridiculous, isn't it?

The internet is fantastic in that it has evolved into a sort of marketplace - as a consumer, you can look and poke around for things that are of interest to you, and try your hand at pulling in a bit of extra dough. The opportunities are really endless.

Thanks for the tips! :)

Hey badchica, I am look into just that topic for several single parents I know.

One of them is doing something call LiveOps, where she answers requests for infomration over the INternet and her landline phone and she is beginning to make money. Actually, I thin her first paycheck was for $300 for two weeks and it is climbing. I'll try to get the info to you here ASAP.

Hi,

I have tried some of those paid thingys. Like surveys and some are points based, some are like a 40 minute survey and earn $5.

For me i feel its not worth the time. I did come across a site where you could write a short review of a website they show and earn like $4 and it only took a few minutes.
