Her parents, Barry Anderson (furnace repairman) and Carol Anderson (waitress), won cash prizes for Pamela's birth. Of Finnish descent, Pamela followed her parents to the city of Vancouver and graduated from Highland Secondary School in 1985.

Pamela Anderson worked as a fitness instructor until she was accidentally spotted on the wide screen while watching a British Columbia Lions football competition. Wearing a Labatt Beer's T-shirt, Pamela was hired to be the spokesmodel for the company's advertisements. She followed it up with appearing in Playboy. Soon Hollywood's door opened and Pamela appeared as a guest on the shows Charles in Charge and Married... with Children in 1990.

Her initial breakout role was that of Lisa, the Tool Time girl on the popular television series Home Improvement (1991-1993). She costarred in such B-movies as Worth Keeter's Snapdragon (1993, playing Felicity), David A. Prior's Raw Justice (1994, as Sarah), and Lyndon Chubbuck's Naked Souls (1995, as Britt). Meanwhile, she kept acting on TV, playing Velda on the CBS' mystery-comedy Come Die With Me: A Mickey Spillane's Mike Hammer Mystery in 1994 (co-starring with Rob Estes).

During 2003 Pamela worked in two films by providing her voice for the title role, Stripperella, in the animated movie with the same name, and starring as Becca in David Zucker's horror-comedy Scary Movie 3, sharing the screen with Jenny McCarthy, Marny Eng, and Charlie Sheen.

After two years of hiatus, Pamela will soon team with Emmy winning actor Christopher Lloyd on the Fox's series Stacked.
