59Diamond dealers are eyeing China, India and Dubai as the new markets for diamond, but Panama is slowly rising as the underdog and as the industry's gateway to the untapped Latin American region. The first of many diamond Bourses to be constructed in Central and South America will be built in Panama.
The president of the Panama diamond exchange, Erez Akerman thinks the opportunities in the region are tremendous. The building that will house the Bourse will hold around 350 offices on 50 floors.The building with house Jewelry, diamond and precious metal businesses, along with gemological labs and educational courses. It is being built for the requirements of the diamond exchange specifically.The building will be located right next to the main casino and hotel to make for accessibility and convenience for the people using the Bourse. The project expected completion date is 2 years from now with the work well underway.
