Imagine this scenario, you are in the middle of a fire outbreak, of course, the first thing you would want to do is to get out safe and alive. You look at fire safety signs, follow directions, and find the fire escape. Thanks to the efficient fire safety signs, you did not have a hard time locating the fire exit. However, just when you are about to get a taste of freedom away from the perils of fire, you discover that you cannot open the fire escape door. You slam the glass key case and in the process, you cut yourself. Blood is all over and you faint.

Since this just an imaginary scene, it may be a little farfetched. However, nothing is farfetched about the fact that some exit doors are not as accessible as they should be. Even those that are secured with panic bolts may not be easy or safe to open up. Panic bolts secure fire exits from unwanted entries. To open a panic bolt, you need to break the glass tube with a hammer to withdraw the bolt securing the door. Even if you manage to break the glass easily, you will be squeezing your hand into broken glass, which can be a hazard especially if there is low or no lighting in that area.

Redlam Panic Bolts

Redlam panic bolts can be the wonderful answer to this dilemma. This is because this type of panic bolt comes with a Ceramtube that allows for a safe exit using the panic bolt system. The difference here is that no broken glass is involved. This type of device is suitable for all areas including kitchens. This can also fit into almost all kinds of break glass tube exit systems. With this kind of panic bolt system, you do not have to worry about cutting yourself with the broken glass or worse, not being able to escape. Just like a traditional panic bolt, this can also protect your property from unwanted entries.

Aside from the Redlam panic bolt, there are also other equipment that can ensure a safe fire exit provision. Lifeaxe, for instance, was invented and designed in the UK to assist passengers in exiting areas that have rail carriages and tough windows. Aside from this, there is also a device called exit stopper that can prevent unauthorised entries and use of fire doors. These and the panic bolts are all effective in securing the fire exit from unwanted entries as well as ensuring that anybody can easily get out safely and quickly in case of a fire accident.

Panic Bolts as Safety Tools

Panic bolts are some of the most important fire safety tools that you have to use for a fire exit. While the traditional break the glass panic bolt has been used for ages, it is about time to pick the safer choice like the Redlam panic bolt, which allows for a safe fire exit since there is no broken glass involved. Other tools like the lifeaxe or exit stopper can also be effective in ensuring safe exit and prevention of unwanted entries.
