Paper Recycling

We just started to train the school children (and some interested adults) on how to make recycled paper.

Recycling your paper means using the cellulose (plant fibers) over and over again, less electricity, less water, less pollution, and saving our trees from being cut down!

It is a fun and easy process, just follow these steps below:

  • Prepare a pair of wooden frames (the same size) according to the recycled paper size you want. Put a type 14-net on one of the frames, let the other empty.
  • Tear the papers into small pieces. Tear the papers into small pieces and put the paper chips into a large bowl, add water and leave it for one night.
  • Blot out the extra water. Put the torn up paper and some water into the blender. Add glue and coloring matter (optional, if you want colored paper). Blend the mixture on high until it becomes mushy.

  • Prepare a bucket that bigger than the frames, pour water into it and then pour the paper pulp and mix it really well. While doing the process, put the empty frame on the netted frame (netted side on top). Scoop the frames to the bottom of the bucket, then lift them slowly. Let the water drain out.

  • Flip over the frame carefully on a piece of fabric and press out extra water using the tube. Put it under the sun and let the pulp dry naturally. When your paper pulp is dry completely, peel it off the fabric carefully.
