Parachute Games
68About parachute games, today it is no longer valid that parachutes would be used for military reasons only. Military still uses them for their own tactical moves but today they are more known for extreme sports or even as games for children. Today parachutes are used for a variety of purposes. In fact, anyone can use a parachute just to have some amusement.
Parachutes find its use mostly in extreme sports. This is mainly for the chill and thrill linked to such activities. Though this does not belong to the extreme category, sky diving is treated as another type of parachute games and sports. There are many events involving parachute sports now taking place in the Olympics. They are also included in X games, an event that hosts extreme sports including skateboarding and snowboarding.
Children could also enjoy from the large range of parachute games. The children variations of the game mostly foster team work rather than outperforming another kid. This includes parashuffle, paraswap, parasight, paraseek, paraball, lucky 7, round the plughole, and shoe shuffle.
The scenario is different for adults though who would take the game to the extreme status. They do it not just for the associated thrill of it but to take them away far from the banality of every day life. Parasailing opportunities are provided by plenty of resorts and you could even visit many sites to do parachute sports. Skydiving clubs offer great opportunities to learn and hone your skills or you could even do tandem jumps. Enrolling for a course in skydiving is another good idea.
The two mild types of parachute sports are paragliding and parasailing where paragliding is competitive by nature and parasailing is done simply as a leisure activity. Started by using the feet, paraglider is a type of aircraft which glides freely. When you are attached to a parasail any pulled fast by a boat, you are parasailing. Paragliding does involve some degree of risk but not as dangerous as the following sports.
An extreme sport variant is the speed skydiving where unlike the conventional method this one entails a skydiver to jump from an aircraft 13,000 feet above ground. In this sport the skydiver picks up speed during his head first vertical fall as he moves through a pre-fixed zone. The measuring zone through which the diver passes could be from 8850 to 5570 feet. To calculate the speed of his fall, altimeters are attached to the divers' body.
As is evident from the name, sky surfing is done using the same kind of board that is used in snow boarding. Here the board is attached to the feet of the diver which can then be used for doing a variety of feats in the sky. Landing takes place while the skydiver still has the board on or sometimes the diver gets rid of the board just before reaching the ground. Skysurfing can prove to be fatal and skydivers who have the requisite experience and expertise only do this.
BASE (Buildings, Antennas, Spans (bridges), and Earth (cliffs)) jumping involves jumping off of fixed objects. Any defect in the parachute opening, can be fatal for the diver. Base jumpers should have very quick turn around time since they do not have the luxury of having too much free fall. The parachute should be operated at the precise moment or else they would have an injurious landing. They should be trained to pack their chutes in such a way that it obeys the opening command properly and they should also know how to control their canopies so that every landing is safe and hassle-free. While parachute sports carry all the thrill and excitement, it has some inherent dangers too so to learn it, start at the basic level and get training from a professional skydiving course.
