Pattaya Red Light District Video Guide

Pattaya is a great city to visit in Thailand especially its red light district. What most people don't know is that the go go bars in Pattaya's red light districts have nude ladies. Which is the reason why the doors of most go go bars in Pattaya are closed. Technically, nudity as well as prostitution is illegal in Thailand but these laws are not enforced when the Police turn a blind eye.

Nude dancers is the major difference between Bangkok's red light districts and Pattaya's red light district. This is also the reason why visitors make the 2 hour side trip from Bangkok to Pattaya.

Pattaya city is not that big so it's very easy to get around. There is a beach scene but to be quite honest the waters of Pattaya Bay are not quite as serene and tranquil as the beaches of Phuket, Samui, Krabi and so on.

Note: Bus ticket to Pattaya only cost 120 Baht. Make sure you buy your ticket at the ticket booth and don't listen to anyone who approaches you with a "better deal".

The most popular way to get to Pattaya is by bus. It's cheap, dependable, relatively comfortable and most importantly air conditioned. It's also a great way to meet ladies by the way who work in Pattaya's red light districts.

I highly recommend taking a bus to Pattaya rather then taking a taxi. Taking a taxi from Bangkok to Pattaya could cost as high as 2500 baht. You'll save money on a bus to Pattaya and get to meet and mingle with people from all over the world.

Note: Taxis today charge up to 2500THB from Bangkok to Pattaya. Some include toll fees and some don't. So ask in advance.

Once you arrive at the bus terminal you're on your own to find your way to your hotel. There are numerous taxis, baht buses and even motorcycle taxis (for the light travelers) available for you to hire at cheap rates. So before you book your hotel in Pattaya make sure you know where your hotel is by keeping the hotel name and address in Thai with you.

But most often enough most drivers will have heard of the hotel you're staying in since Pattaya is quite small and compact.

If you made arrangements for the hotel to pick you up then they can meet you at the bus terminal without a problem.

Pattaya's bus station is located on the north end of the city. Majority of the hotels and go go bars are located south.

Pattaya's hotels are a great value, even more so than Bangkok. There are these really cheap no frills hotels to pick from to many upscale locally luxury hotels at a 3 star price. There's a place for you stay no matter how much you have in your wallet. Obviously the more you spend the better the higher the quality your hotel will be.

Most men who stay in Pattaya prefer to book hotels that have a girl friendly policy. Hotels that are girl friendly do not charge their guests a fee for taking a lady back to their rooms. And since most men visit Pattaya's red light districts and bar fine bar girls it's a smart decision to book a hotel that is girl friendly. If you don't then you're going to have to pay a joiner fee of 300THB to 1200THB depending on how unscrupulous the hotels are.

Areca Lodge is a very popular hotel in Pattaya. The hotel is very well kept and maintained and the rooms are always cleaned well by the hard working housekeeping crew.

The location is quite nice and near loads of go go bars and massage parlors, yet it's still quiet enough to get a good nights sleep.

Areca Lodge is another example of a high quality hotel that is also girl friendly.

Last time I checked the room rates started at 1250THB which includes breakfast. Not a bad choice and I highly recommend Areca Lodge.

Yes there are lots of great tourist sights and attractions in Pattaya. But let's not kid ourselves. Most visitors to Pattaya are men who seek the thrill of easy sex and cheap beer (not necessarily in that order). It's been like this ever since the Vietnam war and there's no signs of slowing down.

There's a certain feeling of static in the air, maybe due to the fact there are tons of electric powered neon lights hanging everywhere. But regardless the red light district of Pattaya has a type of rawness that Bangkok's red light districts has lost.

The most famous street in Pattaya is Walking Street. It's located right by Pattaya Bay at the south end of the city. What makes this street famous is the amazing clusters of popular go go bars, pubs, open air beer bars and massage parlors.

Bar ladies in Pattaya double as sales girls for selling beer and hard liquor. You can also purchase their time for either short time or long time. Not all beer bars in Pattaya charge for such a privilege so make sure you ask. Usually a bar fine minimum is 300THB to 500THB and is paid to the establishment. All the extras such as sex is not included, so make sure you agree on the price with the lady before you even pay the bar fine.

Of all the establishments in Pattaya I enjoy the beer bars the most. The ladies here are fun and most are sincere and genuine. If you treat them right they'll treat you ten times better. The ladies there are easy to chat with. You can play games or just learn about life in Thai and what there thoughts are about visitors like yourselves.

And if you meet one that you truely like you can strike up a friendship that goes far beyond sexual attraction.

Go go bar dancers are the consummate symbol of Thailand's red light districts and in Pattaya they are more unique as they are able to reveal more of themselves inside the go go bars. Another words the go go bar dancers in Pattaya are mostly nude or partially nude.

Some wear revealing see through lingerie while others are playing in a soap filled tub as part of a show. That's something you shouldn't miss by the way.

Coyote girls are basically show girls who often dance better but are certainly much more beautiful. With better looks and moves these ladies cost more to bar fine. Depending on the club you have to pay 600THB to 1200THB. Is it worth it? Yes and no, and that's an honest answer. As you probably guess by now you also have to pay more for any sort of extra activity after you've bar fined one.

These are photos of a massage parlor in Pattaya. If anyone is caught filming or photographing inside any massage parlor establishment without expressed consent would face some serious troubles, physically and monetarily.

Basically you're looking at what's called a fishbowl. The ladies are behind a glass window just waiting for a customer to pick them. The rates for the girls depend on the quality, such as beauty or age. But the typical minimum in most massage parlors is about 1000THB and upwards to 5000THB for an hour and a half of private time in a room provided by the massage parlor.

Videoing a beer bar is fine as long as people inside are okay with it. This was filmed in Atlantic Bar in Soi 2. Business is slow inside as tourism as seriously gone down because of the slow world economy. So it's good news for you if you're able to take a vacation.

Here are some final tips on your visit to Pattaya:

1. Don't talk to seemingly harmless Thai people who approach you and speak very good English, they're most likely up to no good.

2. If you're not sure if a lady is a real lady or a lady-boy, ask. It's better to hurt someone's feelings then your own sanity. Don't wait until you're inside your hotel room at the last minute.

3. For hotels it's best to choose one near Walking Street or between Beach Road and Third Road. These areas are in prime location and in easy reach of all the red light activities in Pattaya. And make sure the hotel has a girl friendly policy or else you'll end up paying a joiner fee.
