Clickbank vs Paydotcom!
When I first started out online I decided to give Clickbank a try as it is the best source of affiliate products in the affiliate marketplace or so I thought!
I soon became aware of Paydotcom for it's similar style to Clickbanks, they both have good quality tracking of your links that you can track sales and affiliate campaigns all over the internet.
And before I knew it I was either working with both of them or comparing each one to the products they listed and I suddenly thought which one could be the best for the affiliate marketer, so I began to list the advantages and disadvantages of both affiliate services so that I could evaluate which one I'd fully devote most of my affiliate campaigns and strategies towards.
First off I'd say that Clickbanks tracker system is easier to understand you just append your TID to the end of your affiliate url and if you need to you can make that into a redirect, but then again Paydotcoms campaign tracking system is fairly straight forward also as are the more promotional tools you can gain on some items, like banners and draft email copy and paste stuff and not to mention the articles that sometimes can be found to promote a product.
Clickbank however wins in my opinion with having more selections of products and plenty of them, I'm sure Paydotcom will eventually build up more of a product portfolio in time, but Clickbank seems to make all the simplistic ideals of making money a piece of cake compared to Paydotcom, whilst both programs have their own affiliate referal program, which is good I suppose to drive more traffic to them by extra affiliates, publishers and advertisers, but Clickbank does not provide any good promotional tools such as banners which would be nice.
So if you ever need products to promote visit either of these for some great products you can earn from as an affiliate.
Or
I did consider Commission Junction for this small debate but it promotes a wide variety of affiliates so it is more considered an affiliate niche picking opportunity with CJ, But I use this also anyway as their tracking system is the best I've ever seen for affiliates so far.

Which is best Clickbank Or Paydotcom??
Thanks for the comments!
Most of the people I've talked to never know about the extra promotions from the actual merchants as they think it is all from Clickbank and it is their products!
So they just use the tracking links as standard, whereas at paydotcom you have them right on the campaign page, which is far better in my opinion, but still yeah clickbank is still the best for it's larger range of affiliate products alone.
This is very interesting! Good hub!
nice page again wayne lots of good info
Cheers all!
Neat Hub! I was miffed when I started using PDC and found it a great resource. So many people had scared me away from it, but now I use both PDC and CB. I love, as a product owner, how I can create an affiliate toolbox right on PDC for my affiliates - something I can't do on CB.
Paydotcom has improved recently what with the widgets and stuff, although all these promotional tools, I'm finding it hard to put them places as there is no room, unless I build more blogs and right now at present there is only one of me.
I am currently using both as an affiliate but in time I will have my own products out there too so watch this space....hey I'm currently checking out some of your squidoo lenses and they are great, keep up the great work!! here and over there and wherever else!!
Thanks for the great hub waynet. I have just started using paydotcom and it seems to be fairly simple to use.
Cheers Ernestshub!
I think Paydotcom is still great after all this time, I still use them now and even though Clickbank have stepped up their game with multiple currencies available to affiliates and new front page ads that are more affordable as is the use of weekly commissions and payments which sounds quite nice, because if you have some money in your account like I do in one of my accounts and you don't earn anything more and you haven't reached the pay out point yet (ie: you have to make five or more sales with different payment options!) then they start slowly deducting the money off your account, which is utter pants!
I'm still using both Clickbank and Paydotcom and they both roughly earn me the same amount on average!

Top Ten Clickbanking Tips
When it comes to using Clickbank for your affiliate promotions there are some tips that I would recommend using to further your income with this very useful affiliate marketing tool and marketplace.
1. Having more than one account helps you to organize your promotions, say if you have a niche marketing online business and you are promoting lots of different things, then you can choose a targeted keyword clickbank id that will go in your hop links. (affiliate Links!)
2. Make use of the simple tracker system, you only get a limited amount of characters to add, but make them count so you know where the sales are originating from in your affiliate campaigns.
3. Try and choose something from the Clickbank marketplace that looks undiscovered but professional, because there will be top affiliate products that you may have no chance of earning from, unless you are better than some of the super affiliates and the chances of this are pretty slim, become better at spotting bargains, sort of like you are shopping for yourself, think like a customer for these products, see the benefits on the sales page, work out whether this is really worth buying and owning.
4. Be creative with your text links, see where to spot places in either your website or blog to place your text links, put keyword phrases into your relevant content or articles, these all add to your promotional efforts to be indexed in the search engines.
5. A lot of the top internet marketers already have products listed within the clickbank marketplace, try to seek these people out and learn all you can from them, you are more likely to find out something new from each of them in turn, most have their own blogs, or they have free stuff that they always give away, such as reports and other quality content.
6. A blog in your niche goes a long way to get the word out about what you do, you shouldn't constantly sell within your blog, but it helps to be aware of your market and keep in touch with your niche community.
7. Clickbank alredy has a cloaking code to hide your affiliate url's, which is good, but you need to have other ways of doing this, at least a couple of redirect generators that are from different sources and also it's worth considering a html encryptor which you can get for free if you search for them.
8. The best way of earning, which some find difficult is to create your own product, which could be an ebook, the must have report on fishing or whatever, this way when you join clickbank as a vendor you will gain an army of affiliates who are already in that niche area of your product and will promote the hell out of your product, thus earning you some profits, there is a one off set up fee to do this.
9. As an additional tracking tool I recommend Google Analytics for it's excellent array of statistics and information about the visitors to your website, you can find out lots of useful information such as what keywords brought people to your websites, which part of the world they are from, which pages did they leave on or exit and much more, I'd highly recommend it!!
10. Of course the best tip I can give you is that, backlinks and free ways of advertising should be sought each day if possible, a repeat process of everything you have done is essential, also a plan of new things to advertise your campaign content should be regularly reviewed and adhered to.
Above all else promoting in an area of interest that you know really well will be very enjoyable for you and should give you the much needed boost to keep pushing on in this ever competitive niche building market online.

Wayne, great info. I haven't used PDC although I have an account there.
One thing though is that some or most of the merchants at Clickbank do provide promotional material on their affiliate page and some of them even have their own affiliate management system (Procash is one). I prefer to use Clickbank any day over PDC.
PDC has one benefit of paying affiliates directly to their paypal account which is somehow convenient for some affiliates unlike Clickbank where you have to wait for a check.
