Why Are Personal Change and Growth Important?

We hear lots of talk about personal growth these days. We’re all encouraged to grow, to become our authentic selves, to continue to learn and change. Some jump on the bandwagon and ride whole-heartedly into personal growth, while others stand behind, feeling a bit daunted.

“Why change, why grow? What’s wrong with the way I am now?” they ask. Maybe nothing. But maybe personal change and growth is important for all of us. The reasons why growth and change are important are several.

First, each person is a virtually endless and vast source of untapped talent, spirituality, intelligence and potential. There is no way that at any stage of life, there isn’t more to you - more to find out about yourself and your potential.

Personal change and growth isn’t necessarily about becoming someone different (although it could be) - it’s more about refining and adding new facets to yourself. It’s about letting go of negatives that no longer serve you, and honoring the positives and the potentials in yourself.

Some might say that personal growth and change is scary. Well, sometimes it is a bit scary. You might discover things about yourself that you don’t like. Look at it as an opportunity to become a better you.

You might find you have to work at something to gain knowledge or improvement – think of the reward. Don’t let the idea of personal growth and change scare you – let it excite you!

Empower Yourself to Be a Better Person

Striving to be a better person doesn’t mean that you’re not a good person now. The fact that you’re reading this shows that you’re self-aware and open to discovering your full potential in this life.

You know that you’re already on the road to self growth. You know there’s always something to learn and ways to develop yourself. Congratulations! Sometimes though, we all run into stumbling blocks and need a little boost or kick in the pants to work at being a better person.

If this happens, how can you empower yourself to be a better person and return to the path of growth? Here are some tips:

  • Remember that you, and all people, were born with an infinite amount of potential and possibilities within you. As a human, you have the gift of intelligence, self-awareness, and sensitivity to explore areas that can still be improved upon, tweaked or changed in order to develop a better you.
  • Remember also that you know what’s best for you. You know that you’re capable of understanding yourself and being honest with yourself regarding where you would like to change, improve or grow.
  • Remember that stumbling blocks can be valuable life lessons. Don’t overlook what you can learn from mistakes and crises.

You’re a great person now, striving to be an even better person. That’s wonderful. Remember to honor yourself and all your efforts to create the you that you want to be!

How to Stay Motivated During Life’s Twists and Turns

It’s easy to stay motivated when things are going well. You’re riding a wave that’s lifting you and pushing you along. But what happens when things aren’t going so well - when the wave loses its power?

Successful people know that they still have to stay focused and motivated even when they feel like giving up. Whether it’s business, personal relationships, finances or anything else, they keep going.

You can stay motivated when you’re in a slump by using the same techniques that successful people do.

  • Remember that nothing stays the same. When things aren’t going well, you can rest assured that they will get better. Don’t assume that you’re stuck.
  • Use the Law of Attraction, positive thinking, affirmations and other positive ways to draw good to you and to spur yourself into positive action.
  • Take time for gratefulness. A grateful attitude will help you focus on what’s good in your life and help you feel more enthused about working to solve problems and beat obstacles.
  • Remember that twists and turns in life’s road are opportunities for learning and gaining inner strength. They are there to help you become a better person. If you approach problems in this way, you’ll have an easier time staying motivated.

Don’t let obstacles stop you from moving forward. Allow yourself to think positively, confidently and creatively to stay motivated.

My View

My name is Robin Skeen. I am a freelance writer and live in the lovely state of Ohio, USA.

I have been studying personal growth concepts for several years. I have many articles published across the Internet covering the topics of self-improvement and spiritual development.

My goal through my writing is to empower and inspire others to live their best life NOW. I have written extensively on self-improvement topics such as abundance and prosperity, goals, self-esteem, Law of Attraction, personal growth, spiritual growth and much more.

I absolutely believe that we each have the power within us to achieve anything we can imagine. The mind has the power to create a more abundant life for each of us.

Personal growth never stops and it is not an instantaneous process. Let me share my insights with you. I am not the final authority on any of these things. My hope is that the tools I can share will be what you need to take action and make a better life for yourself.
