A phone call recorder is one of the popular capability a lot of people are searching for, ncluding you it seems.

Now, you probably have a specific need for it in mind, but let's go over

all the different application this equipment can be used for first...

A phone call recorder is an effective way of managing both, incoming and outgoing calls. hile this capability can come in different forms, the need is the same. To record what you value as important communications that you want to be able to go over gain in the future.

For some people, it's for personal needs. They may want to know what their teen is saying on the line. Yeah I know this often doesn't sound right , but if your teen has some major problems or their security is at stake, then this ability to monitor their telephone use may be a good thing, temporarily at least.

Some adults may wonder if their spouse is cheating on them. Here's a little secret. People often share their deepest secrets and thoughts on the phone. So if you have doubt your spouse is playing right, call recording equipment may turn out to reveal many things, and may confirm your doubts, or not.

To keep a record of what was said while speaking to a company so they can't deny what was said, and when.

In business, to monitor how the customer service department is interacting with clients.

The Different types of phone call recorder equipment

There are 3 main types for you to choose from.

1- Models recording on tape cassettes.

These are the one you have known your whole life. It's pretty self explanatory.

You have a machine that saves everything to either standard or mini magnetic tape cassettes. The disadvantage of these is since they're using a magnetic media, over time it can deteriorate. Also, cheaper models will often leave hissing sounds on the tape.

More expensive units, as used by private investigators does not have the hissing sound problem, and can even stamp the date and time of each call. But of course, it's much more expensive, in the several hundreds of dollars. And they're pretty bulky.

2- Digital phone recorders

This is a really good option using modern technology. These devices resembles mp3 players. They're rather slick and slim, so very portable. And they record sounds in their internal memory in the digital mp3 format. The recording time can be 65 hours and more on units costing a couple hundred dollars or less.

Since it's digital, the sound quality never deteriorates. And very simple to transfer and file in your computer, using a simple USB cable. I would highly recommend such a digital phone call recorder as one of the very good and flexible options.

3- Software on your computer

Using a simple software, and with the press of a button, you can record telephone conversations until your computer run out of hard disk space. Which is at the very minimum several days worth of recording time. Minimum!

It is a very good option if you don't need the portability offered by option #2 above. It's rather cheap, below one hundred in many cases. You can even find free software that will do the job.

The software option is great if you need to identify , label and classify many communications, for easy finding and accessing of the past conversations you're looking for.

You now see that you have several options to choose from. In the end, if you have a general need for a phone call recorder, I would definitely recommend you go with a digital type as discussed in #2.
