Potoshop Tutorial & Effects
I've been planning for this shoot for several months, and it was truly a memorable experience! Our oldest daughter Holly reminds me of the singer/artist Pink, and I wanted to create an image of her to highlight that resemblance. We hired Phoenix makeup artist Allison Pynn to do the makeup and styling... wow, did she do an amazing job! Using a screenshot from the 'U & Ur Hand' video, Allison spent an hour turning Holly into Pink. We then shot on greenscreen, so that we could choose from a variety of fun & funky backgrounds to layer into the final image. Lighting consisted of one light almost directly from the front to produce a flattened, glamour effect. I also set up two black boards positioned only inches from both sides of her face, to absorb light and create a more defined cheekbone. The blackboards also helped to slim down Holly's face, as her face is rounder than Pink's.
I spent an hour creating the final image in Photoshop. Some of the major work I did in the transformation was a significant amount of diffuse glow, using the liquify tool to further slim Holly's face and elongate her neck, and enlarging and opening her eyes with the liquify tool as well. I also used the color replacement tool to turn her hair red, and enhance the blue color of her eye. After layering in an image that Tony took in Las Vegas of the Planet Hollywood sign, I applied lens blur to the background to create the illusion of depth. All of this Photoshop work was captured with a program called Screen Flow, so check out the video and let us know what you think!
