67NIAGARA FALLS, GOD'S GIFT TO CANADA
NIAGARA FALLS is God's wondrous gift to Canada for it is one of the seven natural wonders of the world. We must always be thankful to our almighty Lord God in heaven who chose Canada of all the whole wide world to bestow His bounteous and most beautiful gift.of pure, sparkling, clear water flowing endlessly and cleansing the atmosphere of all pollution.Â
We should bow our knees in thankfulness for His grace. What Joy! What Admiration! What Adoration! Canadians are truly blessed by this phenomenon! The miracle of cascading ever flowing of volumes of water to wash away the dirt, grime and pollution of the earth. Halleluia! All glory to our mighty and everlasting God of heaven and earth.   Â
ACKNOWLEDGEMENT
Unfortunately, the first few paragraphs were completely erased and I am now rewriting again. I did not really acknowledge God in the fullest sense. I have learnt my lesson and I thank God that I had tthe opportunity to acknowledge my mistake. In everything that we do or say or think in our thoughts, we have to acknowledge the Lord.
SKYLON TOWER WITH NIAGARA FALLS IN BACKGROUND
NIAGARA FALLS
Niagara is about 90 minutes drive from Toronto where I live. Two Sundays ago, our family drove down to Niagara Falls when the temperature was about 50 degrees with the sun shining. It was a nice drive. We arrived at Niagara Lake in the afternoon after a stop over for lunch in Mississauga passing through very huge and luxurious looking houses along the way.
Along the rail keeping us from faling into the lake was a huge crowd most taking photos of each other.
NIAGARAÂ FALLS
length of brink: 2600 feet
height: 167 feet
volume of water: 600,000 U.S. gallons per second
Interesting fact: According to the U.S.G.S. (United States Geological Survey) of Niagara
Falls, it appears that almost 1/3 of the Canadian Falls lies within US Territory
SKYLON TOWER
You will be able to see Niagara from 775 feet above Niagara Falls when you ride up the Skylon Observation Deck. It is free when you eat at the revolving restaurant attached to the tower.
The view includes Niagara Falls, the Great Gorge, the cityscape and 8,000 square miles of Canada and the U.S. including the Toronto and Buffalo skylines. At night you may gaze and marvel at the illumination of the Falls. Fireworks lit up the sky during the seasonal Falls fireworks.
MAID OF THE MIST
MAID OF THE MIST
You can experience a closer encounter by riding in a boat under the Niagara Falls. On entering the boat, you will be provided with a plastic rain coat so as not to get soaked when the boat nears the Falls. Â You will experience the deafening roar of the waters pounding and splashing against you. The roar is so loud that you feel the thumping of your heart amidst tt. It is an experience you will never forget. You will relive hearing the roar like thunder and feel the splash of water from all directions whenever you visit Niagara Falls again. I live in Toronto and it is not too difficult to visit Niagara Falls.
The Maid of the Mist was launched in 1846 and since then, millions of visitors have enjoyed the boat tours. The tour lasts a half hour and it is North America's oldest tourist attraction.
The boat departs only from the Canadian docks only at.5920 Niagara Parkway, Niagara Falls, Ontario, Canada.
Attraction Facts & Figures
"A powerful diesel-engined boat will take you from the Canadian docks past the base of the American Falls, then into the basin of the magnificent Canadian Horseshoe Falls. Operating from late April/early May (weather dependent) to October 24 each year, the Maid departs every 15 minutes. Two 600-passenger boats, Maids VI and VII, are each 80-feet long and have two 350-horsepower engines that carry the vessels against the powerful current. A recyclable souvenir raincoat is provided free with admission to help keep you dry from the mist and spray."
WHIRPOOL AERO CAR
WHIRPOOL AERO CAR
You can take an Aero Car Ride across the Niagara River from the Ontario side across to the American border and back in about 10 minutes. From your vantage point in the air, you will notice how the torrent of water changes direction and creates a whirlpool of water which is quite mesmerizing but a natural phenomenon. The experience is quite unforgettable and exciting.  This is another natural occurence in the Niagara region..Â

If you love butterflies, you will find this place magical as it features over 2,000 colourful tropical butterflies floating freely among the beautiful exotic blossoms and lush greenery. Paths wind through the rainforest setting, past a pond and waterfall. There is the Emergence window, where butterflies leave their pupae and prepare to take their first flight.

FLORAL CLOCK
FLORAL CLOCK
The Floral Clock is a unique timepiece photographed as often as Niagara Falls! The beautiful display of special flowers is from April to October each year.
www.niagaraparks.com/garden/floralclock.php
Location: 14004 Niagara Parkway, Queenston, Ontario, Canada, behind the Sir Adam Beck Power Plant and near the Lewiston-Queenston International Bridge.
Background on the Floral Clock
The Floral Clock at Queenston was built by Ontario Hydro in 1950.
"The hands of the clock are stainless steel tubing: the hour hand is 14.5 ft, the minute hand 17.5 ft and the second hand 21 ft long. Their combined weight is 1,250 pounds. An ivy-clad, louvered stone tower stands 24 feet tall and contains speakers that every quarter hour broadcast Westminster chimes. Under the clock, accessed by a door at the rear of the tower, the concrete foundation includes three small rooms ? one for the clock mechanism and its driving motor, one contains switches to supply the electrical power, and one stores the tools required for maintaining the floral face. The clock mechanism runs in a bath of oil. The mechanical workings are driven by a 5 HP DC motor supplied from a DC drive. A tachometer is mounted on the motor shaft and provides feedback to the drive to control its accuracy.

SHAW FESTIVAL
The Shaw Festival produces the plays of George Bernard Shaw and his contemporaries and is the world's only festival to exclusively host the production.
The Shaw Festival presents plays in three distinctive theatres: the Festival Theatre – The Shaw’s flagship theatre, the historic Court House Theatre where The Shaw first began performing and the Royal George Theatre, modeled after an Edwardian opera house.
All theatres are within a short walking distance from each other.
I heard on the radio (FM 96.3) that a visitor from Lebanon (Middle East) came for the Shaw Festival. Distance is not a factor when you are really interested. About 50% of visitors from United States are regulars at the Festival. That shows how popular the shows are.
THANK GOD FOR NIAGARA FALLS
Thank God for bequeathing Niagara Falls to the people of Canada for a lasting memorial of His love and grace. We, the people of Canada acknowledge the most magnificient gift of love and bow our heads in prayer of thankfulness. We also realize the wonderful symbolism of living water to cleanse us both spiritually and physically. All glory to the Amighty God.

My son Reuven went for a road trip with his friends to Canada in May. They visited some of the places you've described. He was fascinated by Niagara Falls and butterfly sanctuary.
Great hub, great pictures, great thoughts.
I have never been but would love to go sometime. It looks absoutely beautiful.
Vladimir Uhri,
Thank God for His glorious gift of the precious Niagara Falls. All glory to Him.
ReuVera,
It's nice that your son Reuven was able to visit Canada and was fascinated by what I had described in my hub. I have been there many times, but I am still fascinated each time I visit the Falls. Niagara Falls is only 81 miles away from Toronto. You should also come and see for yourself the beauty and splendour of the sights.
Triplet Mom,
You are our neighbour and should not procrastinate.any longer now that Spring is here and the time is just perfect for a visit. It is not too hot or cold at this time of the year. Hope you make it this year.
This is just beautiful. I never knew how much more than just the falls that there was. One day I'll have to visit.
RGraf,
Canada would welcome you when you visit. It is hard to cover all the beautiful and exciting places in the Niagara Region. Niagara on the Lake is just about 20 minutes drive from Niagara Falls. Look forward to your visit.
einron, great pictures showing a very beautiful place. My family and I usually visit Niagara Falls every chance we get. We spend New Years Eve; birthdays, and  anniversaries  at Niagara Falls. We also visit during the summertime. We always take our visitors there.
We spent our honeymoon at Niagara on the Lake at the White Oaks Hotel and Spa; we go back every couple of years for our anniversary.
There is so much for the whole family in Niagara Falls, all year round;  from indoor water parks, (including the Great Wolf Lodge) to arcades and museums. And salt water toffee. Never a dull moment.
Thanks for highlighting such a beautiful part of Canada. Great job!
DynamicS
Thanks for supporting me from a fellow Torontonian. You must have had a wonderful wedding ceremony in Niagara Falls. Any visitors we had, always recommend the trip to beautiful Niagara Fall without fail..
Thank you very much for sharing some great photographs and for a most interesting Hub - it's been a pleasure reading!
Regards from Cape Town, Pierre
Pierre,
Thank you for your lovely thoughts. I appreciate your time you take to comment.
I have visited many times and Niagara Falls never fails to thrill. I must say, the 1st and 3rd photos in this Hub are the most beautiful I have ever seen of the Falls—and I have seen plenty! Thanks for a great Hub!
I love Niagara Falls. Its a wonderful place that lifts my spirit. Great hub with great pictures...
I have always wanted to go to Niagara Falls (and someday I will!) but the next best thing until I can is to visit it on Google Earth! I wrote a hub about all of the virtual traveling you can do with Google Earth. I've been to Egypt over the pyramids, the Grand Canyon, etc. I think I'll head to Niagara Falls right now!
James A Watkins,
You have an eye for beauty and I agree that No. 1 and No. 3 are very beautiful pictures. I have spent quite some time hunting for the most memorial or picture perfect ones. I was quite pleased with my choice this time for I like the best illustrations to go with the article.
While experimenting with the pictures, I accidentally put No. 3 picture into the background of my screen. The bigger the picture, the better the look. I dont have the time to change for I have to look for instructions to change it back.
You have made my day for the kind remarks. Thanks. All glory to God for I am not that good in doing things like this.
travelerhubs,
We both seem to like travelling very much and I am glad to make contact with you. Though I have travelled a lot, I did not write much about them, but only two on travel. One is travelling on board Queen Mary 2 and Picturesque Ontario Region. I shall try to read some of your hubs.
KCC Big Country,
You are most welcome to visit Niagara Region even if it is through Google Earth at present. I am sure you will eventually make it to the physical site. Canada welcomes you with open arms.

Would love to visit Canada. The Falls are amazing.
Ethel Smith,
Canada would love to welcome you as a visitor. Please do come.
You are lucky guy to be born near Niagara Falls. It's the place where one can enjoy the power and beauty of Super Nature. Yes! We every one must be thankful to Him to get the Great Niagara Falls in our Globe.
ratnaveera,
I am not born near Niagara Falls, but half way round the world. Thank you for being able to enjoy the power and super beauty of the Falls.
Wow. Nice pictures.
BeatsMe,
Thanks for the appreciation.
How great the writing and pictures! I got to visit Niagra Falls Canadian side once, stayed to watch the night lights. But you could not PAY me to get in that boat!! It is an absolutely unbelieveable sight, tremendously humbling! Would like to go back and see all the other sites you named, but that will have to wait for ...someday... Thank you for sharing.
frogyfish,
Thanks for the comments which I value. I believe that going into the boat is pretty safe, I did not mention that you can also go behind the falls and hear the roar of the falls. You are most welcome to visit Niagara any time. God bless.
Wow great article...keep posting your article and i will read it..its an interesting topic.
hammerj,
Thanks for your support. Appreciate it.
Thumbs up for a wonderful writeup and great photos. And the only point I would like to add is that Niagara falls is "God's gift to both Canada and USA". :-)
Thanks for the compliment. Niagara Falls is truly more Canadian than American. There is not much to see on the American side. Even Americans agree.
I agree the view is more awesome from Canada. I was just pulling your leg...LOL
Thanks for replying. Pulling my leg at this time will not make me any taller. I accept this, however.

Sounds magnific!
Ellandriel,
Niagara Falls is as you said, Magnific! Come and see for yourself the sights and sounds of the Seventh Wonder of the World! You won't regret it!
Nice Hub! Niagara Falls is very nice but make sure to go to the Canadian Side as this is where the best views and action is. The small towns up and down the Niagara River are nice too.
Avoid the city of Niagara Falls (American Side), it's a dump.
How very wonderful pictures and info. I did get to briefly visit the Canadian side of Niagara Falls once. But you couldn't pay me to get in that boat! We did stay to watch the night lights, then hurried back across the bridge to our motel - which was v e r y old. Clean, but v e r y old! IWould really like to go back but don't expect
