My personal advice for to be moms - Pilates in Pregnancy
63Pilates is an excellent exercise for pregnant women and postpartum recovery.
During pregnancy, it is an important exercise designed to tone and gently relax the muscles of the pelvis. The practice of Pilates during pregnancy improves cardiovascular fitness and muscles, promoting postural muscle balance and avoiding excessive weight gain, thereby giving a better overall fitness to any pregnant woman.
The exercises are performed on the Reformer bed (Pilates equipment) or on mats. These exercises are performed gently and slowly, but in a great state of concentration, preparing the mother for delivery. If it continues after delivery, it will provide the mother with rapid physical recovery.
Like any exercise before you start, talk to your doctor for a check that makes you and your baby safe and sound. Also ask your doctor that how many times a week you can do Pilates.
Benefits of Pilates
The benefits will be felt in the pelvic area, abdomen, buttocks and arm strength, which should be strong to hold the newborn. Breathing is very important in practice in each move and this also helps you prepare for proper breathing during childbirth. The practice of the Pilates Method during pregnancy relieves low back pain (very common as the belly grows) and improves blood flow, thus preventing any varices and cramps.
Every major hospital or good clinic has Pilates exercise instructors. These professionals help you learn these exercises.
It is my strong belief that any woman who does want to prevent cesarean delivery should do Pilates exercises and other breathing techniques. My wife, brother-in-law's wife, his close friend's wife did these exercises and they had normal vaginal delivery without cesarean section, so I think these examples are enough to motivate any woman to do these exercises because every women wants a health baby.

I personally use pilates now and absolutely love it. Since I have a bad back, it offers one a low impact way of muscle strengthening and flexibility. Great hub!
