Pinky rings are items of jewellry worn on the little finger, 4th finger or what it's popularly called, the pinky.

Pinky rings are worn by men and women and people mostly wear it to adorn their hands.

Apart from the signet ring, which traditionally, is worn by men, the other well known orders that wear pinky rings are 'The Ritual of the Calling of an Engineer', and members of the 'Order of the Engineer' , who wear steel or iron rings on their little finger. It is worn during a ritual style ceremony, to show solidarity with a society, or a membership status. In the ceremony, the engineers wear iron pinky rings on their little finger, to symbolize pride in the profession and humility to serve others.

Generally,, there is no special significance associated with wearing a pinky ring, other than the typical motivations for fashion, where wearing is an essential part of style.

WHY DO PEOPLE WEAR PINKY RINGS?

Simply for Fashion

It make a fashion statement in both genders and so is a neutral way to accessorise.

Men wear it to make a bolder fashion statement and conjures a unique stylish look that seems to temper down the size masculine hand.

For women, its an added dazzle to the hand, especially when the other fingers are uncluttered with rings, save the wedding and engagement rings.

For Status

The signet ring is a mark of status worn by mainly by the members of a Scottish clan. The pinky rings have detailing on them, which indicates each individual's rank within the clan.

Members of the Engineering order also wear pinky rings as a symbol of their profession.

SIZING

Pinky rings are supposed to fit perfectly, so sizing must be done carefully and accurately. This is because they cant be switched between fingers like the other rings.

The only way you can switch ring is if you have large, or fat fingers. In that case, you luckily can switch other rings to the little finger.

Meaning you can use rings intended for the other fingers on your pinky.

BEAUTIFUL WIRE AND BEAD RINGS

NO MORE AN INDICATOR OF SEXUAL ORIENTATION

Pinky rings were very common amongst the gay community between the 1950's to the 1970's, and it seemed like an indicator of sexual orientation. Not any more. The delicate look of these rings has evolved into jewellry that sometimes look intimidation, and in cases, almost obscene size wise.

Talk about the bling, pinky rings with the bold sized dollar sign, chunky lead-cut bruisers, stacked rings and even designs featuring a winning hand of blackjack.

CLASSY, STYLISH AND CHIC FASHION SENSE

Those words will be applied to you when you wear pinky rings.  As you will always discover the one that looks good on your little finger, you'll find that these unique rings will give your hand a softer look and a kinder feel.

Another great pinky ring would be a small moonstone ring. Anyhow, I just love gemstone rings of all kinds!
