I have found 3 (three) places on the internet that are probably never going to ask you for money just to blog. The first is Blogger.com. They have had some difficulty with their beta program, but overall their software is quite easy to use, even for me. And I am a nerdlet, not a fully grown nerd. Simply go to http://blogger.com and follow the relatively easy steps to establishing your own blog. There is a dashboard, and under layout you will see all of the elements that show up on your blogger page. This is one of the simplest to get started on, and I would not hesitate to send you there. Art by Crain is a good example from Blogger.

The next level is probably livejournal.com, it is also an easy interface, not quite as simple as Blogger, but definitely user friendly. Live journal can be quite thoroughly adapted to your tastes, with a wide variety of templates, as do they all. Here is a good example of a livejournal blog. Robert A. Sloan is also an artist, his work is usually colored pencil, though he does a fair amount of acrylic as well. Each of these blog sites is free, no charge.

The next is one of my favorites, and that is wordpress.com, that's because this particular blog site actually acts like a cross between a website and a blog site, there are options to put up pages that do not change right along beside the dynamics of your blog page. This is my blog, you are welcome to look around and see which one you like the best as far as ease of use is concerned and sign up, that's all it takes! Have a great deal of fun.

Caution: This is just in case you have not blogged before. Be sure to set your privacy levels according to the things you intend to journalize. If you want a place to put your private thoughts you can do it at any of these blogs but you must set the privacy boundaries as yourself alone for that to happen. Otherwise anyone surfing the net can stumble upon your blog and read your thoughts. If that's what you are after, go for it, enjoy the experience, it's fun!

Another comment before I go, there are certain rights that the free sights have when it comes to what you put up on their web address, keep it legal, generally polite and free of profanity, if you do not follow that general rule, you could find that your blog simply disappears. No warning.

It will be fun! Since you have written a novel, a blog should be a cakewalk!
