It’s a well known fact that beauty comes from within. Beauty is not reflected by a woman's shape or size, so whether you are a plus sized woman, or a woman who looks like a lollipop with gaunt features, feeling beautiful and being fashionable  should be a choice you make.

Because many misinformed women believe being skinny and having jutting bones is what fashionable women should look like, and unrealistic role models do generate unhelpful messages to young and impressionable women, the plus sized woman usually feels less than perfect.

But who is a fashionable plus sized woman?  A curvaceous and voluptuously chic but full-bodied woman is a fashionable plus sized woman.  She appreciates modern, sophisticated and stylish clothes, and she is a plus sized woman whose personality is vivacious and strong and who shows her style in the clothes that she wears and the way she wears them. She is voluptuous and proud.

HOW TO LOOK FASHIONABLY CURVY AS A PLUS SIZED WOMAN

Any woman should be proud of her size  and it's a known fact that many men like a plus sized woman that looks like a woman and is not so skinny. Feeling flesh is more exciting than touching bony and gaunt features.

As a plus sized woman who is full bodied and curvaceous, make sure your clothes fit well because when they do, you always look slimmer. Don't let the magazine photos sway you and make you feel self conscious about being plus sized. Don't let the sizes on clothes labels bother you either, and even if it means going up a size, the most important thing is to make sure you buy clothes that fit properly and looks trendy and fashionable.

Own up to your curves, whether you are top heavy or fuller in the thighs and hips. You must be big and proud of yourself as long as you dress up smartly and choose the right type of clothes for your body structure, you'll be just fine.

Definitely, we all need to lose a few pounds here and there depending on where those pounds are packed, but as plus sized women, we all still need lovely clothes everyday, to wear and feel great in, made with great fabrics that are becoming to our size and silhouettes.

There are designers who a passion for design clothing for the fashionable plus size woman.  You must learn to know which designer clothes truly works for you so that you can continue to look good, confident and ultra sexy whenever you step out there, wearing the appropriate size and design style. Choose forgiving fabrics such as ponte -- it is exceptional especially if worn with the proper body foundation

COLOURS

If you are a full bodied plus sized woman, the colours you choose is crucial to your overall appearance and you must ensure that you're wearing a colour that compliments your size, skin tone or colour and it must be flattering. Colour choice, whether a subtle colour, soft tones or bold and sexy shades, must be enhancing and complimentary. You should wear something that makes you very noticeable, but in a classy and fashionable manner.

Colours chosen are as important for the garment style, the makeup and accessories as well as for you.

LENGTH

Thinking about the right length of your clothes is also very important. Always choose the appropriate length if you are wearing a dress or a skirt. As a plus sized woman, f you have puffy ankles, or fat legs, you want to wear styles that are flattering, but those that also conceal your 'minus' parts. So ensure the length is proper. However, this does not translate into wearing frumpy outfits. You can still wear chic and classy cuts that have length.

WEARING PANTS AS A PLUS SIZED WOMAN

It's important that pants, jeans and such attire look smooth on your body. Lines must look neat and must always be smooth so make sure your pants are crisp and pressed neatly always. It does make a whole lot of difference to your silhouette giving you a sophisticated and fashionable look. A plus sized woman must make sure her pants are always in shape. And even if you're wearing a longer length jacket, your pants must fit neatly and stylishly on your body.

UNDERGARMENTS AND INTIMATE WEARS

Dressing ladylike and being feminine starts from the inside and not from the outside, and this is a fact. Proper undergarments, like body foundation, are key to a sophisticated and finished look on a plus sized woman. Body foundation  gives you smooth lines for whatever you wear, whether it's a dress, a pair of jeans, or dressy and casual  pants.

FOOTWEAR

When it comes to dressing up and being stylish, the shoes have it for the plus sized woman.  Always make sure your shoes, heels and soles are always looking clean and new. If your shoes look worn or untidy, if the heels are starting to peel, or the soles are thinning in an unsightly manner, take them to a shoe repair shop and have them fixed , or restored.  At the end of any season, especially after the summer days, always take your shoes and boots to the repairers. They will help to keep the polish fresh and the heels looking smooth, clean and spiffy. In these times of less to spend, it's money-wise to keep the shoes you have in your wardrobe looking new rather than spending your cash on new pairs of shoes. So whatever you do, you must always keep your shoes looking good!

TAKING CARE OF YOUR FINGERS AND TOES

A plus sized woman must look good from the top of her head to the bottom of her feet! So make sure you're polished.  Your manicure and pedicure must always be done, even if it's only a clear polish manicure. Choose nice bold colours as these keep your fingers and toes looking sexy. Red the classic  nail polish will suffice most of the time. Keep a little manicure set in your stylish bag at all times because you never know when you might chip or smudge your well done nails.

Some forward thinking and pace setting fashion designers now use the plus sized woman to grace the catwalk in their creations.

The winner will automatically qualify for a place in the Miss England title giving them a chance to compete eventually in the ultimate beauty contest, Miss World in 2010.
