Gamergirl: Poetry and Love
61
The art of poetry does not use brushes or canvas, does not require a spinning wheel or fancy machinery. Poetry is an art of words colliding together to inspire emotion and trigger memories. Displaying your original poetry on the Internet may be a scary concept, and is not the most popular topic in terms of page views, but to read it is to know a sliver of the writer's mind and heart, and these I gladly share with you.
Poetry
- Eyes
A poem about the rush and retreat of love began and ended by the meeting of a man and woman's eyes. - The Breath of God
A tongue in cheek poem about God's involvement in our lives and environment. - Aubade
An aubade is a reverent poem written to bring in the new day while bemoaning the day's arrival. Read this poem to see a glimpse into the aubade in Gamergirl's world. - Hate Vomit
An angry poem focusing on describing the physical and emotional pangs that insults and hatred bring to the forefront. - Divorced
The high rate of divorce in the U.S. makes this poem wide-spread, it could be you, me, or anyone we know. - Don't
An original song written by Gamergirl about suicide and depression. - Acrostic Poem: I have
Do you know what an acrostic poem is? If yes, read this one! If no, read anyway and learn what one is. Find the hidden message!
Love
- How Love Saved My Life
Love, and it's weaving in and out of my life, has nearly killed me. I don't mean emotional death, I mean a real and truly really dead death. Funny, how the thing that can kill can heal also. - Sex Education
Everyone knows that when people fall in love, they get down and dirty. So play it smart with your kids, teach 'em early. - Kiss me like you mean it!
Read this hub to find out a few kissing techniques which may just light up your day. French kissing, Eskimo kissing, and a few in between, all here described just for you! - Ways to show your love
Show that special someone that you care about them without ever spending a single dime. Don't get caught on your anniversary or Valentine's Day without something in mind to show the one you love, well, that you love them!
A little family love
- Being a Good Sibling
To be a good brother or sister is HARD. You may want to punch out your sibling's lights, but before you do - read this hub. - Positive Messages for Teenagers

Thank you, seeds! :D
I have much reading to do! I love the way you put this together. :)
This is so wonderful! I can't wait to go home and sit down with a nice cup of tea and do some reading!!
I echo all comments, and I add: wow (softly said).
Beautiful and inspiring hub, gamergirl. Especially the first paragraph. "...to know a sliver of the writer's mind and heart..."
You can't see me but right now I'm blushing. You ladies are so sweet to me! I had a really great time writing all these hubs, and I hope you all enjoy them and pass them on to your friends. :)
Very nice hub. Creativity flows through your heart.
Charlotte! I've never been able to write poetry. Except for a few stints at Haiku. So I really admire anyone who can put together the rhymes.
So with other words ====>Great hub
regards Zsuzsy
That's a great idea, to assemble an index/intro to your individual poem hubs. Because, as you say, they tend to languish. It's not so much that noone wants to read them - but poems tend to be unsearchable by nature, unless you already know the title.
Sir Dent - Thank you darlin', I really appreciate the compliment. :)Zsuzsy- Anyone can write poetry, that's what's so awesome about it. You don't have to rhyme, either, just put your feelings into metaphor, or not! :PParaglider - Exactly! I thought, by making my first 'hub' hub about my poetry and matters of the heart, it would help my readers find the prose I've posted easier. Hopefully it works. *hugs for all!*
I forgot to mention above, I love the new do.
Aww, thanks again! It's my first wig. :D
Some beautiful and sensitive prose and poetry as usual, Gamegirl.
Nice work. I especially enjoyed the aubade (I hadn't heard of that before). I love learning new things - thanks.
Prose comes from the mind and poetry from the heart. You have a very good heart, seen in the forum and again in comment section of this hub when u say, the ladies are so sweet.
I admire ur feelings.
I like to share with.
