poor credit rating

Ok so about 7 years ago I had a very bad credit rating. A friend of mine told me to obtain a copy of my credit report and write letters the credit company's to explain off some of my bad marks on my credit report. I must say It was a lot of work because you have to send these letters to each company and have a good reason for what happened. I was able to contest 6 different things from my credit report and they took them off of my credit report.

From what I remember you send in a letter contesting the bad marks and they send a letter the company that reproted it and they have 30 days to reply. If they do not reply then it is removed from you credit report. I hope this will help some of. Hey it cant hurt to get a copy of your credit report.
