Struggling to fit into those skinny jeans again?
After I gave birth to my son I realised that I was 36lb more than before I fell pregnant. As the time went by it just became more and more difficult to get the pounds to drop. Now only recently I have found the secrets to getting my body back in shape…
- Be positive – Believe in yourself and believe that you can do this! Many times I caught myself being negative about the way I looked and really just made things even more difficult for myself. Try to stay positive, because this is the only way you will persevere and reach your goal.
- Do it right – Don’t and I repeat DO NOT starve yourself. I had to learn this the hard way. When you starve yourself your body will first lose weight, but nobody can starve themselves forever, and once you start eating again your body is going to start storing the fat encase of another “famine”
- Make it part of your life – Do things that will be possible to do everyday. If your form of exercise is jogging them make special time in the day for it so that it can become a habit. Also my advice is to not go on weird diets, you will be more likely to stick with your “new lifestyle” if you can just eat whatever is available. The secret is smaller portions.
- Exercise – Cardio is great, it doesn’t just help you lose fat but it actually gets you feeling more alert and it also releases endorphins into the blood stream which are feel good hormones. I burn between 500 and 600 cal daily.
- Eat right – Eat 5 to 6 meals daily, each of about 200 – 250 cal. Do not deprive yourself of your favorite ice-cream or chocolate. If you want to eat a chocolate just cut its calorie portion out of your daily calories.
- Visualize – Imagine how you will feel when you can finally stand in front of the mirror naked and be happy with what you see. Imagine fitting on those skinny jeans and actually still having enough space to breathe.

Hi Tracy,
Great article! Love the part about staying positive and visualising your goal in the mirror. What worked for me is keeping a diary of what I ate and counting the calories, this way I learned how many calories are in foods and helped me make better choices. Another rule I live by is to not drink my calories, for example, I really only have tea and water and occasionally a diet soft drink. I don't like wasting my calorie intake on big juices or soda.
