I was determined during my pregnancy that I was not going to have stretch marks...and it is possible! I searched online for solutions and got allot of helpful info, I also discovered that woman who have a lighter skin and who have had stretch marks before are more likely to get stretch marks during their pregnancy. I was really scared because I already had bad stretch marks on my breasts from them growing too quickly during puberty.

So let me tell you, it’s almost two years later and I am so gad I made an effort, because I have a stretch mark free tummy! So I thought I would share with you all the little things I did to keep my stomach from those ugly lines...

Your stretch marks are...

  • Very bad, never let anybody see them
  • They are not too bad, would like to get rid of them though
  • You can hardly see them
  • Dont have any...yet!

Tip # 1

Drink lots and lots of water! Keep your skin and body hydrated, apparently if your cells in your body are hydrated they are less likely to tear with stretching! I drank at least 2L of water everyday. This is separate from other drinks.

Tip # 2

Creams really do work. From day 1 that i knew I was pregnant I started using creams. I used Bio oil in the evening after I had a bath and in the mornings I used Revitol stretch mark cream. I really believe these products did most of the work. It’s quite expensive buying these every month, but its worth it in the long run.

Tip # 3

Mumomega! It’s a tablet that contains essential oils. It keeps the stretch marks away and it helps with the development of your babies brain! You can buy it online too. I took these right through my pregnancy.

Tip # 4

Caffeine increases the risk of stretch marks. (coffee dehydrates your body)  If you’re a tea, coffee or soda drinker make sure you balance it out with more water. I love my coffee, but I tried to stick to one cup a day.

Tip # 5

Eat fοοds that help skin health: try fοοds rich in zinc, such as nuts οr fish; fοοds high in vitamins A and C, including carrοts and citrus fruits and milk; prοtein-rich fοοds, such as eggs. I ate a hand full of cashew nuts every day during my pregnancy, I also ate an orange every day, sometimes more than one! And I drank at least two glasses of milk daily.
