Procrastination Prevention Tips

Sometimes is very difficult to get focus and get things done quickly to be productive, for some people it becomes very challenging and they dont know how to do it, they tend to delay their tasks, lets see how we can prevent procrastination.

Procrastination is the cause of several reasons, sometimes is anxiety, low self esteem, impulsiveness, emotional problems, perfectionism and many other possible reasons. But can you prevent it? it is not considered a mental disorder so is not something that you can prevent easily with a quick solution.

However there are some things that you can do to prevent procrastination, especially if you are a student or you need to get your work done.

The first recommendation that i want to give you is that once you are ready to start your work choose if possible a quite place where you can lock your self and avoid any distractions from people.

Make sure that you turn off the telephone and cell phone, otherwise you will have trouble getting focused and you will be constantly distracted by things that don't matter.

Tell your family and friends that you need privacy for an hour or the amount of time that is going to take you, go to the bathroom previously, if you need any kind of snack get it before you start your work.

Set a specific time to work and write down the tasks you want to get done, set a deadline and be realistic, how much can you get done in that period of time?. Once you finish your work keep track of it, what is your current progress or how much you have left to do.

Every day start to work at a specific time, make the habit of working quickly and effectively for that period of time, it doesn't matter if is a short period of time or large, just work productively.

If you follow those tips you will avoid procrastination, many people have problems getting focused because they have many distractions. Another thing that i want to recommend you is to prioritize your tasks, don't do multiple unrelated tasks, just do the ones that are more important and that will make a difference in getting to your goals.

As you progress you should keep track of your progress and be closer to your goal, sometimes using a spreadsheet or an online calendar is very useful to keep track of your self, you can use google.com/calendar
