Products for hair loss and tips for hair loss. Every hair growth cycle involves some amount of hair loss daily. While 90% of our total hair is in a growing phase, 10% is in a resting phase which would usually fall off every 2 or 3 months. When the loss reaches beyond normal limits, people tend to notice the hair fall. Several factors could be behind hair loss. These include: Alopecia areata: This is noticeable when one or more spots appear on the scalp. It affects men and women and the hair loss is very rapid. This is usually caused by an immunity disorder when the intrinsic white cells attack the hair follicles. Alopecia Totalis occurs when all of the scalp hair is lost. When all the body hair is lost it is called Alopecia Universalis, a rare condition.

Genetic reasons: Called male pattern baldness, this can affect about 25% of men by the time they are 30. Over and above the reason being genetic, it could also be due to testosterone the male hormone. One of the functions of Dihydrotestosterone (DHT), which is produced by the conversion of testosterone, causes impairment or stoppage of hair growth and produces short and weak hair. Men not possessing any testosterone would also not have male pattern baldness.

Skin diseases - Skin diseases can affect the scalp and cause hair loss. The specific skin diseases causing hair loss include dandruff or seborrheic dermatitis, psoriasis, scalp fungus such as ringworm and tinea captis.

Sudden illness or fever: you can see large chunks of hair falling off after any serious illness or fever. This is generally a temporary condition however.

Childbirth, menopause, chemotherapy, radiation therapy and aging could also be the other reasons for hair loss. Apart from these reasons, there are several others too.

Successful hair loss treatments are available where you not only stop hair loss but re-grow your hair too. Some ways you could treat hair loss naturally are: 1. Incorporating Vitamins A, B, C and E is essential for good hair growth. There are several ways these vitamins work to promote hair growth: they provide sebum and promote blood circulation to the scalp by increasing oxygen absorption and collagen

2. Caring for your scalp: If you regularly massage your scalp with herbal oils like olive oil, jojoba oil, amla oil you would be greatly benefited. If you want to treat conditions of alopecia areata, try some essential oils like that of thyme, rosemary, lavender and cedar wood.

3. Scalp abuse: Chemical shampoos and blow drying are to be avoided. Chemical treatments like coloring as well as straightening damage hair and scalp. Your hair and scalp can get damaged as hair turns brittle and dry when you wash it with hot water daily.

4. Switch to herbal therapy: Powders of amla, shikakai, henna and ritha as shampoo and conditioner could provide you with a natural and herbal option to treat hair loss. Amla powder is a powerful natural anti-oxidant that prevents graying and hair loss and is the richest known source of vitamin C in natural form. Shikakai, often called as the Fruit of hair, has a low pH. This makes it a great shampoo which thoroughly cleanses the hair without depleting it of its natural oils. Then you could use henna which acts as a natural conditioner.

5. Bring lifestyle changes: Reduce stress, an important factor in hair loss. Do this by doing exercises and meditation. Forego Smoking: Because the nicotine from the cigarettes blocks the pathway which supplies blood to the scalp and results in reduced supply of blood. To avoid sunburn and damage to the scalp caused by UV rays, avoid sun exposure.
