Project Black Mask
59Is all the hype justified?
Hi fellow affiliate marketers, welcome to my honest review of Project Black Mask. This latest Internet marketing product by the creator of Day Job Killer and Affiliate Project X is supposed to tell us how to make money online without spending a fortune on Adwords.
It seems like Chris, the creator always has the right feeling for the pains and problems of affiliate newbies - and will then create a product to solve exactly these problems.
At least this is what he tells us in his mails ans sales letters.
Honestly, I hate all this hype. I don't like to be told "Buy now and you will make a fortune instantly". Usually products that are sold with that type of hype do not live up to their expectations.
Now before Project Black Mask there were 3 other products make by the same guys (Chris and Ken).
- Adwords Miracle (the first one) told you how to optimize your Adwords campaigns to get a better CTR, better profitabilitly and better performance.
- Affiliate Project X went on to talk about more advanced (and controversial) affiliate tactics.
- Dayjobkiller was basically a "Project X 2.0" - same story and more borderline techniques. (Just to give you one example: He suggested bidding on product brand names and grab those customers ready to buy the product. What he didn't tell you is that bidding on product brand names can get you into serious legal trouble - if it is a large company holding the brand)
Ever wondered why there are so many ads out there that read like this: "Is X a scam? Don't buy X until you read this".
Well, this is one of the techniques suggested in Affiliate Project X. However, by now this has been used so much that people no longer react to that type of "anti-hype". Like with any type of money making scheme: If too many people use it - it stops working.
Now what about Project Black Mask? I guess the name appeals to many people because it reminds us of "black-hat". Chris has always tried to play the "bad guy", the ruthless affiliate warrior, who is giving away his secrets to his buyer - while everybody else would be left out in the cold - ready to be slaughtered by him and his loyal followers.
Talking about loyal followers: Project X sold 6000 copies in the frist 24 hours. If you ever had a band and have released a CD you know those are numbers you can only dream of.
But Project Black Mask is expected to even surpass this record.
I should add that not all people are as sceptical as I am. A friend of mine has really liked the book. Go here to read his review of project black mask.
Anyway, I think it should have been called "Project Black Hat" - becasue this is what you get: Black Hat Techniques. It is up to you if you want to use these or not.

It is amazing that people continue to fall for this stuff.
Create thousands of pages to spam the the search engines? NOT a good idea for long term growth of your sites methinks
Thanks stefan for sharing the insider view after buying the product. I stumble upon this page after researching if i should buy Google payload. Hmm what do you t hink about that product? IS it the same as Project black mask?
Hi Zulkef,
No these two products are not the same. I happen to own both.
Project Black Mask is about black hat SEO. This means how to build a massive amount of sites automatically to get free traffic from the search engines.
Google Payload however is all about CPC arbitrage. Again you will set up low-quality landing pages to only have your visitors click through but using this concept you will pay for the traffic. You basically try to buy traffic cheap and sell it at a higher price.
If you are in doubt which one to get I would suggest Google Payload ==> http://tinyurl.com/yswbxt since it is easier to start and doesn't require much money to start with.
I hope this was helpful.
I have bought project black mask, its a good product overall, you can readmy review here =>> http://mypsreview.com/2009/07/project-black-mask-r
Is Project Black Mask 'Project Black Hat'?
Ok, I just bought Project Blackmask. My version is 'masklaunch3.pdf',it is 1,6 MB heavy and 194 pages long!
Actually the book is 97 pages and is contained twice in the file.
Strange!
One thing that surprised me is that the copy is signed by Alex Goad - not Chris McNeeny.
I always thought his partner was Ken. Anyway I want to let you know what is inside the book.
First of all: Project Black-Mask is different from the other books Chris has released so far.
It is all about black-hat SEO - not borderline Adwords tactics.
The basic strategy in the book is not new: Create hundreds of sites with thousands of spam pages to rank for long tail keywords - the so called low hanging fruits.
These sites would then create an Adsense revenue of around $1 / day. If you make thousands of these spam sites - you should be making thousands / day - so the reasoning.
While this is not new at all it indeed can be done - but there is risk involved. You risk your sites getting banned and you have to be putting up sites faster than Google can ban them.
The book also talks about other black-hat techniques for creating traffic and backlinks.
Some of them are blog-spam and automated forum spams.
Again nothing of this is new. Most of the info you can get for free if you hang out in forums where they discuss black-hat SEO such as Wickedfire.
Sorry to be so honest - but with everybody else just pushing this product I had to go the other way and tell you what I really think.
Again, I am not saying that the strategies described in Project Black Hat (sorry Project BlackMask) don't work...
They do work - I know it. It is just that not everyone might be ready for this serious black-hat stuff. Personally I don't think newbies should try this before they have made some decent amout of money with 'normal' tractics.
